There's the rumour that Ayu get into Avex because she dated Max. There's a picture of them supposedly kissing during that time but for me the picture is just a funny pose lol

I doubt Ayu had any thing more than a mentor/friend relationship with Max Matsuura. Sounds like made up rumors to me.
But I also miss Shuya, I think he will always be my favorite.

Nah Ayu never pulled a Mariah marrying tommy Motola.

Plus I always thought Shuya was gay? Oh well.

To be honest, out of all her relationships, her relationship with Maro was the only messy one in my opinion.

^ Avex made a report that they didn't actually divorce and said that perhaps they can talk this out and change their minds, but later Ayu posted on TA and clarified that she had actually applied for a divorce

Her last divorce was pretty sad to me. It always makes me sad when people can't work through it but then of course there's no real knowing what was happening under the surface.

But, anyway...I actually kind of believe the rumors about her and Max, but only because it's kind of conspiracy theory-ish and I go crazy for those. Also, that rumor about her and JaeJoong is news to me!

I do believe Max and her had an affair... But not that she dated him because of that, most likely they dated and he saw star power on her.

I'm more inclined to think that she thought he was an odd man at the time and she was never really looking for a relationship but he kept trying to recruit her regardless. The Ayu of the early/mid 90s seemed like a girl who would not want to get involved with some talent scout.

Yeah, I was reading over her early years and I think the reason why she blew up the way she did was because no one expected her.
Like her first couple of singles were just blah. (Sales wise)
But her album to be number 1 for 4 weeks and selling over a million copies... like... WHY? she people just got interested in her. lol

I think I remember reading once that when he first started interacting with Ayu she was not even interested in talking with him and was skeptical about everything. But because he was persistent, he was able to persuade her to let him guide her to a music career. She was initially suspicious of him but ultimately decided to see where it would take her.
I can't remember where I read something like this though.

I was all for Ayu x Mannie until hr released that bizarro book which was "for her" but also went on sale to the public.

I just hope she finds her happiness, whether that's in marriage or through her music or being with friends and loved ones.

I really liked Tyson! Seemed like she and Tyson really liked each other! I remember when I saw him walking thru the crowd during Arena Tour CdM at Saitama and really thought that he must be very proud of Ayu to go watch her concert (while wearing the goodies sweater). <3

Mannie was nice as well but sometimes he seemed to take advantage of Ayu's fame (not saying that's a bad thing tho). But in the end only Ayu and her partners knows how their relationship flowed.

Well, Mannie was (is?) trying a Hollywood career after all, her fame wouldn't be of much use for him.

Thanks for the link - that was a very interesting read. Especially about Max and TK not getting on as well in the early 90s.

maro was ayu's biggest mistake and it's the first time her music suffered as a result.

He was too involved in the 'music' side with being on the 'again' cover and showing up on some questionable PVs for that era too. It was a bit too much IMO.
