That's a nuisance. Once I tried to download Ayu Trance 2 on WinMX, thinking it was the actual CD. Instead, it was Avril Lavigne's song, "Complicated" repeated 30 times. >_<

That's terrible, Chibi! The same thing happened to me when I tried to download Hikki's "Simple and Clean". I ended up with Aerosmith, I think. That's not the way to do it. Even if people liked the song they heard, they wouldn't have a clue who it was and would probably delete it once they realized it wasn't what they wanted.

I don't know if any of you know this, but VH1 did something very similar a while back. They showcased some of the current hit songs from around the world, and played the artist videos. It was how I first heard of Utada Hikaru.

Look at Shakira. She sang perfectly fine in Spanish and has awesome black hair. But she dyed her hair blonde to fit in with the typical blonde pop singer such as Britney, Christina, Mandy (who now has black hair), Jessica Simpson (whatever happened to her?), etc.

Actually being a Shakira fan since before her coming to America, she originally had her hair dyed red. I remember hearing an interview where she said that she did not like being compared to the above singers, because she felt that she was nothing like them. Although she still is compared to them.

(Sorry about the double posting. Its just I have no idea how to quote two different post. Is there some way of going about it?)

I only remember seeing Shakira with black hair since the PVs I saw of her had black-colored hair. Maybe they were older videos. . . Whenever I heard journalists and television show hosts refer to her hair color, they'd instantly speak of her doing so in order to match with the blonde singer hype of the time. Either way, would she have been as successful with her black or red hair? Image is everything in America, unfortunately. . .

By the way, to make a double quote you click the "quote" button another time while you're making your reply and copy the post you want to quote into the quote box at the left-hand corner of the page.

Maybe I had my information confused?

A sad, but true statement. However, I still believe behind the images there are plenty of great musicians here.

Anyways, thanks for the help with the quotes! I appreciate it!(Why is it that sometimes people just seem to miss the most obvious things?)

Hmm.. But since there are different MTVs.. as MTV Asia, and etc.. Shouldn't they be in contact with each other? They'd be able to get the video if we really, really went all out on this... I think we should do it. Doesn't even matter if it's the same video, as long as it's Ayu we cast a vote for...

i just voted for ayumi a couple of times, but unfortunately i don't think MTV is shown in Canada. some of my friends know ayumi probably cause i sent them a bunch of her songs and made them go to sites about her. but they all think her style of music is WAY better than the stuff here. they also think she's pretty and not fake like the celebrities in the states.
