What's the "official" title of the fairyland single?
Is it fairyland or fairyland c/w alterna? Also, what are the official track titles? For example, is fairyland just "fairyland" or "fairyland 'original mix'"?
Thanks! |

release title: fairyland
track title: fairyland "original mix" song title: fairyland conversation: A: have you heard fairyland? B: i've heard the song, but not the "original mix" "c/w" is not usually paired with the title in cases such as INSPIRE, it is labeled on the cover for advertisement purposes |

Ah, I see. I wanted to know so I could properly tag them on iTunes, so would this be correct?

I think the only ayu single with more than one song title in the title of the single was LOVE ~Destiny~/LOVE ~since 1999~ (at least based on what's on the spine)... the reissue wasn't titled like that, i don't think o_O

I think it's only "fairyland" as the single name, since "c/w alterna" isn't on the cover.
One question I want to ask is whether the INSPIRE single would be "INSPIRE" or "INSPIRE c/w GAME" since "INSPIRE c/w GAME" is on the cover. o_O

So does this mean that Alterna is a Bside or a c/w side?
c/w sides get more attenion B sides are just there as filler space |

j-nerd, in jpop, b-sides and c/w's are basically the same thing. c/w just means songs-besides-the-title-track. The poker face single says poker face c/w FRIEND on the cover. b-side isn't really a term in jpop (though a-side is for some reason, but really only on multiple a-side singles like A, H, and &... really a single is only ever considered a multiple a-side of all included songs are in the title or if the title is different from the first full song on the single).
As for a single's official title, it's better to go by what the spine or obi says, since that's not really using any design conventions. Alot of times the graphic designer will put the c/w song's name on the cover just cuz they think it'll look nice there. The spine is no-nonsense, artist and title. Maybe a nice font. that's about it. The spine just says fairyland, then it's just called fairyland.

um no. There is a diffrence between c/w and bside. For example Inspire c/w Game. If Game was a Bside it wouldn't get a PV and as much attention as it did compared to something like Heat from Koda Kumi which most people haven't even heard of. |

however, if you look on utada hikaru's "COLORS" single, it has "Simple & Clean" as a B-side, which didn't have a PV, but was definitely given more attention than "COLORS" because of its use in the promotion for "Kingdom Hearts." so in the end, b-sides and c/w's have no importance over one another. they're the same. equality for all (songs)! btw, isn't B-side used in j-pop? i mean, Do As Infinity has an album entitled "Do the B-Side" weird
