Doesn't look like it, but I wonder how the K-ON character songs will do.

No Arashi ahead in traffic or something to try to sneak in - Arashi has a single that will come out on September 8th (Love Rainbow), then another one the week after Ayu's 50th single release, on October 6th (Dear Snow) - it's a good thing Arashi follows an imaginary sign that Ayu could make:

Hey Arashi, don't even mess around with my 50th single and the record-breaking attempt!!!

i think we do need to worried about K-ON, don't underestimate the power of otaku.

especially K-ON popularity is so high now...

and there is quiet a lot of rising star artist such as SID, Flumpool, Hi-Fi Camp

ayu and avex really need to work hard, to make sure that the number one position is safe...

i remember they released something somewhere around M/b release week also but seems like K-ON isn't a threat for any artists

K-ON released their OP/ED singles a few weeks back and they sold both individually more than MOON/blossom's first week sales. It's pretty fearsome how big they got... but the image songs didn't really do that well. 30k-50k first week is still really high for anime character singles. I wonder if it'll be higher now?

I dont want to be too optimistic, but I don't think Avex would let anyone ruin the chance of Ayu's 50th single getting number 1...

but I guess after all the hype about consecutive singles....they can't exactly postpone or anything....

I still think they have some surprises...and I don't think she wont get number one...that would be...kind of embarrassing actually lol

It's an anime with a fictional band (Afterschool tea time or something like that) that releases music that actually charts pretty well- even better than a lot of real artists.

Their last two singles sold 86k-ish first week (172k-ish combined) and have since then sold about 110k? They will probably end up selling about 150k-160k before falling off the top 200.

If Ayu were to go against one of their opening or ending singles... I don't know if she'd be able to sell more. K-ON! is ending for good soon though, so there's not much to worry about in the future, haha.

***BUT Ayu is not going against OP or ED singles. She's going up against character singles that only hardcore fans buy. Even though that's the case, a lot of them still do buy the CDs. Usually these sorts of things only sell 5k or less... but with K-ON, it's like 30-50k, haha.

I'm interested to see what they've done with SEVEN DAYS WAR. They said they had made it into a Who... pt. 2 and the song sounds like something she would close her albums/concerts out with.

That had nothing to do with crossroad, but rather a song that Kikuchi appears to have done for L. (If not, then for the next album?)
