I'm sure they'll only include maybe 4-5 songs, maybe less if the album is only 10 tracks. I can't imagine Break It/GMB being even on it because the album because it is SO old. Why promote an album with songs that most Japanese people have already forgotten? Sure, hard-core fans know what she's released, but for the general public including older songs won't do much for sales. I hope that she'll have a new album following soon after this release though. Maybe one of the reasons a new single is coming out first is because Ayu is coming out with an album on the same day. I'm sure avex would never release albums by both queens on the same day, and maybe Ayu reserved the date first. All I can say is we better have a new album this year, because if the world ends this December I'll be pissed if I didn't at least get one more album; I was counting on it!

I really like the Thai S Cawaii cover! I wish I could buy the magazine because I work at a Thai restaurant and I would make my boss read it to me hahaha

@everlastingRAINBOW Perhaps you are right. It's just that I mostly listen to my music by albums (which means no skipping tracks and thoroughly listening to everything). And it's extremely important to me that the album has an actual theme and flow. I seriously dislike it so much if an album is just singles compiled one after another. It just feels like a compilation and I never get the feeling like it's an actual album. It's like, I could take those songs and arrange them one after another even better than they did. Everyone could do that. So I'd rather buy the other singles (if I really love the songs not included) than have them all put in an album.

But then on another hand, buying singles is such a nuisance and I'd rather have all songs on the album. So what really pisses me off is her sudden releasing tons of singles (which just makes no sense whatsoever), when for the last album we only had ONE.

Makes me laugh really. It's like, they're too lazy to produce an actual album and therefore keep popping out 2-4 songs every few months.

I don't know. Considering it's been a hell of a long time since she's had her last album, it just doesn't make sense to me.

For me, not only is it because we'll be getting practically nothing new, but that half of her songs recently have been snoozefests, and Namie's my favorite singer!

We had 4 singles for all the albums before P<F though... (PLAY, QoHP, STYLE)

@ Chiharo: I don't think we should be worried about having a Namie album that doesn't ~flow~ well... I remember reading an article from PLAY era in which she said she didn't know what theme she wanted the album to have (which is why it took so long until it got released after QoHP) until FUNKY TOWN single, and she ditched some a-sides to make the album sound more well put together. Even her best albums have a theme
I have a feeling it's the same this time around as with Play...

Or maybe she will surprise us with a longer album (16+songs?) or 2 disc album (one for dance tracks, one for ballads/midtempo songs) or a best album since it's her 20th anni (let's hope not D: )

@aloopy, I'm already calmed after I read your post. Also thank you for that info as I didn't know that. And yeah, 16+ songs or a 2 cd album sounds like a really better deal. I guess we can just hope it's not going to be a best album.

You both share my exact sentiments. Her latest string of releases, with the exclusion of 'Higher', have been underwhelming to me. Which is why I have become hesitant to put aside $$ for her new album. Out of all of the upcoming releases this year, Namie's album is the one I'm most anticipating. That's how damn impressive her music has become over the years in comparison to the rest of the J-music industry. Now I'm slowly singing a different tune...

A 2CD release would calm my nerves though.

But namie has almost NEVER put every single on an album. Just because there are more "a sides" this time around doesnt mean that will change (at least I hope). I fully believe that this album will only have the songs previously released that will fit into the overall theme of the album. she has given us no reason to believe itherwise with her other releases

They did remix Violet Sauce for PLAY. Violet Sauce ~original version~ was released in 2005 together with White Light. They also did some remix some songs for her earlier albums too (Don't wanna cry, Chase the Chance, I HAVE NEVER SEEN + few others that appeared on her early studio albums) so I wonder if they'll do remixes for single tracks that appear on the new album (whenever it's released)? Like, something what they did with SWEET 19 BLUES back in 1996.

I remember when she released CAN'T SLEEP come along by FUNKY TOWN back in 2006/2007, these 2 singles/song were both so horribly boring imo and I almost lost all my hope for Namie's music at that time, but eventually 'PLAY' turned out to be awesome with other Namie-ish tracks like Hide & Seek & Top Secret.
So this time i dun really worry about the new album tbh~
Not to mention that Break It, NAKED Sit!Down! & Love Story were really good imo.
The rest(Get Myself Back & Fight Together) should stay on their own single only.

P/s: Higher is a b-side after all, it's not gonna be on the new album.
That song is fine, but i want something like FAST CAR
