Maybe this is a much smaller community so you'd pretty much know who is leaking them, rather than by random Chinese fans from across the ocean? And I'm not being elitist, but when you're paying $$ for a service and you see other people don't pay for it and they get the same thing it's a bit frustrating. Especially when they've (TA) made it SO easy to join for international members, AND they've lowered the membership price. It's less than $40 for a whole year, that's less than what you for pay for to get an album shipped by CDJ. There are other Japanese artist online fanclubs I'd love to join but its very difficult to figure it all out without being fluent/living in Japan.

I don't drink nor do i party....300 euros a month is REALLY little and i need to survive on that....considering i give half away for rent....this stuff would be no use for me really, i can't really spend money on music even if i want to, the ability to participate in the ticket lotteries is also pointless for me. Ayu's diaries aren't that interesting and it's not exclusive if she speaks about new releases, cuz they, you know, will eventually be announced anyways. So really, it's kind of a waste of money.
Also i always thought we are all on Team Ayu , aren't we all her fans after all?

I had a friend who was a member of DEARS - GACKT's official fan club , and she was also a member of Miyavi's too, you know what she did without any reason? she gave me her log ins to both. I was completely shocked. People always would get mad red about sharing that stuff.

I think i would share stuff as well. I mean what's the fun of being excited about something when you are the only person who knows about it?

Anyway. She really is looking younger than ever before!

I would disagree that it's pointless for everyone. For us, who go to her concerts and live far away from Japan this means that we don't have to find and pay for the middle-men or use the expensive re-seller shops, but can get the concert tickets at regular prices and win some good seats. Plus we are able to get TA versions of the releases.

Also the blog is not always about the new releases and it's now being translated into English as well. $30 a year is around $2.5 a month which is something nearly everyone can afford. I am fine with sharing things though, but you attitude is a little bit off there...

It's a thing only people from east Europe understand, the difference in earnings is huge, I have family in Germany and they earn 2000-4000 euro a month, so they could afford 30+ euro for entertainment easily (the cost of an album). When my uncle in Germany lost his job he still was getting 1000 euro from the government, I get 600 euro working full time as a teacher (when I started working ieght years ago it was 270 euro, lol), less than a jobless person in Germany and the prices in our countries are the same, clothes cost the same, CDs / DVDs, books, we may have cheaper rent and some food but when I want to order a CD from YA it's 30 euro just as it is for a German or French person.

The comments that a membership is 'two evenings drinking' is really painful, you should really be thankful that you have rich parents or live in a rich country if you can say things like that.

I probably could afford a membership but instead I collect everything I can to be able to go to go to Japan again and see Ayu live so I'm glad there are still people who share and I also buy stuff whenever I can and share them as well.

Well, it's not like everyone in Germany is rich. I have 550€ a month. 400€ is for the rent and I'm sharing my flat already with a room mate. Then I have 150€ left to buy something to eat and to buy all the other stuff people need for living. There is barely anything left.
It's not that I could afford a membership this month, or next month, or next next month...
And 1000€ is shit when you have to pay a rent of 800€ for a single room flat - depends on where you're living but in Hamburg that wouldn't even be expensive.

I've never seen leaked blog posts/blog videos of P.T.A (Perfume's fanclub) despite usually EVERYTHING getting posted on tumblr so... I do think it's possible if everyone plays by the rules but on here I don't see that happening but as long as everyone is fine with it I'm fine with it too then I'm not complaining that members are willing to share

Japanese fans are very strict. Usually we get leaks and rips from chinese fans or others.

Exactly. "turbo" (T.M.Revolution's fanclub) consists almost in its entirety of Japanese members, therefore, it is nearly impossible to get leaks from it. Actually, an FC exclusive live album was released recently and there are no online leaks whatsoever, I really wanna listen to it lol

TeamAyu, on the other hand, even before going global had a considerable percentage of international members, so it's wasn't weird to find news, pictures, TA entries and whatnot online. Now that it's global, even more so.

I was originally gonna join the international TA but then I backed out.
What are the benefits of joining?

The argument of sharing and not sharing from TA is useless. We never know the circumstances of someone else's life so using the "but it's not even expensive" comment is not really viable, and there's stuff from TA that will always remain TA-only - lottery, magazine, goods, and so on. Photos and diary entries, things that are digital only? Personally, I don't see the harm in the fanbase sharing these between each other.

If you disagree, then that's fine too. But try to remind yourself that not everyone is so lucky to be able to afford the fanclub fee, or they need that extra money for other things, before saying words that may be harsher than necessary to fans who are outside of TA. More discussion is welcome but I do ask people to keep it with the above in mind.

Personally, my circumstances right now don't actually allow me to join TA (due to lack of a safe way to pay, luckily not due to lack of funds), although I have been a member in the past. I was happy to be a member but I don't remember ever becoming personally bothered that other people were sharing the digital TA exclusives. In the grand scheme of things, does it really matter?... I find there's much more important things to get upset over.

The main reason I joined both times was to get tickets to shows. The first time was successful, the second was not. Then there's her personal entries and being able to shop from TA shop, which I used to purchase the TA version of Zutto single. I guess it depends if you feel those kinds of things are worth it for yourself or not. I like having the option if I want to purchase from TA shop or not (perfect example, I dislike the goods that were offered with the new album + live DVD so I didn't care to order from TA and went to CDJ instead).

By the way I'm not arguing with anyone, just stating my opinion for the discussion. I think my viewpoint is as valid as the next person's, right?

I am going to assume this was directed at me. As I said in my post, further discussion is welcome on it. I just asked people to keep my points in mind so not to accidently bring the 'elitist' feel to AHS for no reason.

I'll also preemptively clarify that I'm not accusing anyone of being so, but the discussion seemed close to becoming that way.

@Delirium-Zer0: That things have been lost is a huge shame. I wonder why they're not available anymore...

Yeah I can understand that, I think people may assume that those in TA fanclub might think they're better fans than those who aren't, but I don't feel that way. I just don't appreciate those few members who say they can't/won't join TA but believe they show be allowed to see the TA fanclub things, if that makes sense. Or asking for fanclub content to be shared on the forums. You can't have it both ways.

Like I said, the main reason I joined in 2012 and 2014 was because I was going to Japan later that year and wanted to get tickets in the TA lotteries. If I'm not going to Japan the following year I may not renew my membership, I'm not sure. And as a side note, all 3 of my applications in 2014 were unsuccessful and I had to buy a ticket off of another member here, so being in TA does NOT guarantee you a ticket to any show. Which was rather depressing at the time...

I don't mind TA stuff being shared on here. I am a member and I really don't mind sharing the news nor contents. As Koumori said, many might not be as lucky to be able to join for whatever reason.

Mostly I just wish the TA downloads and benefits from before about 2006 were still available anywhere.

Years of wallpapers and screen savers are lost forever for the most part, which is irritating. If more people had shared things back then, well... lol

When TeamAyu's offline component was just part of the membership, it honestly didn't bug me too much... Kinda, but not really. Now the club is basically just online and all the offline stuff will have to be purchased so the sharing of digital things is more problematic for me.

Are there screensavers before MY STORY? That is the 1st screensaver on the list. Maybe there just wasn't any before that?
