NEWS' Koyama Keiichiro Resumes Activities

NEWS member Koyama Keiichiro will be resuming his activities effective immediately.

The announcement was made on June 26 through the group's official website. Koyama's activities resume on June 27.

"In addition to serious reflection on his past actions, we have a specific betterment plan in place that has been implemented. Based on this and the discussion of everyone involved, we have decided to resume Koyama's activities on June 27, 2018," the announcement said.

Prior to his brief hiatus, Koyama was a newscaster for the programme "news every.". The program will continue to refrain from using him on the programme.

On June 7, reports surfaced that Koyama and group mate Kato Shigeaki encouraged two underage women to drink at a party. Koyama suspended his activities as a result of the controversy.

Koyama's resumption of activities coincides with the release of NEWS' new single "BLUE". The single had been scheduled to be released on June 27 prior to the group's recent underage drinking scandals.

On a side note , I actually am surprised that I like BLUE . It's way better than KINGDOM imo but I think NEWS should stop providing soccer theme inspired songs for the time being :x

To our fans:
First off, I wish to sincerely apologise for my long silence that has caused everyone to worry and to be anxious for so long.
What I did caused everyone so much pain, I am thoroughly ashamed of the carelessness of my actions.

I believe this incident has no doubt left many people angry and disappointed with me.
With this happening immediately after the EPCOTIA concert tour where I said, “I’d bring HAPPINESS,” I have nothing to say in my defence.
That my very core which is to do my best for NEWS will no doubt also be questioned.
This is the rust that has come out from within me.
There were some people who were kind enough to send kind words.
I have also read everyone’s letters sent to TV and radio stations, and to publishers.
I cannot even begin to express my gratitude for those who continue to support someone as myself.
However, I realise that I cannot lean on such kindness. There is no mistaking the reality that I have hurt our fans.
I realise that credibility lost is not so easily recovered, but going forward I hope to restore everyone’s ease of mind little by little.
I am truly sorry.

Yamapi will be doing his 1st solo tour in 2 years & it will start in Sept . The new tour will see Yamapi perform 32 times in 15 different venues

Not only that , Yamapi will finally release a new album & this will be his 1st solo album release in 4 years

Yamapi's new album will be released sometime during Nov - Dec . The new album will include songs that he will sing in both Japanese & English
