In any case, I think the objective of Rule is to be a theme song for a supposedly 'good' and very hyped movie! It's gotta be cool and catchy like the movie, so it has a lot of elements found in American mainstream music, like catchy beats, synthesized vocals, hard rock and all that... If she puts out a rock song like Heartplace or anything... it's going to be too risky.

Maybe if Ayu gets to do another anime song in the future, she can start to experiment more. It's just safer that Rule sounds so mainstream.

But Rule is still not bad. I think it's a good song... feels very Ayu with that attitude and energy!

Now that I've heard the full version, I have to say that Rule is amazing! It definetly fits Dragonball-whatever and I really hope avex doesn't ruin another awesome Ayu song with a pathetic PV (like they did with GREEN.)

I was REALLY impressed with Rule. It's what I've been waiting to hear from Ayu for a while now, and it makes me excited for her possible future album~ It's loud, it's different in her 'rock' style without being too heavy, she switches off with the vocoder and clear, pristine vocals. I think it works nicely as a theme song.

about the sales...I don't have high expectations...since t2m didn't sell that well. I think it will sell less than days/green. I doubt the movie will help much.

I've been listening to rule non stop. I just love the structure and the arrangement of the song. I thought wanting a vocal bridge was wishful thinking but there it is! and sparkle might possibly have one too. I'm just happy ayu is doing something different...so far I haven't heard anybody saying this song is recycled from whatever ayu song. I'm anticipating ayu's next album!

^ Maybe or maybe people will buy it for Sparkle since it does has a style which many oldtime fans like so much. I think the reason why GREEN/Days was so successful was mainly because of Days so there is hope.
