You know what I'm noticing this time around. We actually don't care that they're adding a new member. If anything, we're looking forward to it this time and hoping it revitalizes the group.

Last time we were pissed. Now we'll just take whatever we can get to hopefully get After School back to where it was. I know I'm not mad about this, when I was borderline ready to leave them the last time it happened.

After School needs help period and I hope this girl can do it. The fact that she's so young though, makes me think she may just be the next E-Young. Just wafting through the group, obscured in the background with no purpose. Hopefully she's very mature, confident and outspoken though and forces herself to be reckoned with.

I love her look in the picture in this thread. She definitely looks like a formidable threat there. Let's hope she has the personality to back it up. Because E-Young's time came and went and was basically a waste of an addition if you look at it realistically. I don't regret being mad about that one at all. A Waste.

Make this one count. Because After School is just boring now and I STILL haven't bothered to listen to their Japanese Album and that speaks volumes as far as I'm concerned.

and actually, about the being happy for AS thing, I think only true AS fans feel happy. Read comments over at allkpop and many other places and they are still pissed...and yea, mainly because E-young is totally wasted. Im still hoping her subunit will arise with the addition of new members because that is the only way possible. Another issue netizens dont mind is the addition rather than graduation. that's all that keeps it together now.

it's been 2 years since a last fierce song with attitude. I hope their comeback will be BAM. that said, i LOVED Shampoo...still my top song on itunes..yea somehow you wonder

When they announced that they would add a new member in 2010 most people thought it would be Min Kyung. But they added E-young.
This time, we thought they might add Yoonjo, Ara or Min Kyung but they added Ga Eun...

I don't get what they were trying to do with E-young tbh. She has a lot of talent but it's not really anything that can be (or is being used) used in After School. It's been over a year since she joined! Hopefully she'll get some shine soon.

Yesterday, my friend who isnt THAT into K-pop was telling me, "How come After School is adding members too? How come everyone is adding members now?" so I explained to him. and note, he isnt even someone who knows After School at all, except that I love them.

So my point is, i think Pledis cashed in on the situation of the current T-ara issue and now, even non-fans have knowledge about the news and there is a possibility that they will pay attention to AS's comeback in June. (I even got one of my friends to look at Ara and Yoonjo before the day before the news was announced and he found them really cute...though, they werent added in). And yet again, I think Pledis is just using Ara, Yoonjo and the other Known trainees to give more anticipation for fans. The longer the dont debut, the longer we will keep a lookout.

Pledis Entertainment's new girl group Hello Venus revealed



After School‘s sister group, Hello Venus, has been revealed!

On April 17th, Pledis Entertainment updated its homepage with its new group, Hello Venus. After revealing its boy rookie group, NU’EST, in March, Hello Venus is the second rookie group to be unveiled by the agency this year.

The six members consist of Yoo Ara, Nara, Alice, Ra Im, Yoonjo, Yooyoung. With the name of Hello Venus, the group possesses the lively and friendly feeling of “Hello”, and beauty, which grants them the “Venus” name.

With a fan base growing already for Yoo Ara and Yoonjo since their trainee days, Nara receiving praise for her model pose, Alice boasting exotic visuals and a unique voice, Ra Im showing off powerful rap, and the ’95 maknae Yooyoung showing a cute image with her eye smile, the group is colorful with its unique members.

Pledis Entertainment stated, “Hello Venus will depart from the classical image as the female god Venus, as they will greet the public with their friendly appearance as the new 21st century Venus.”

Hello Venus will make its official debut in May and is in the midst of filming the music video and participating in photoshoots.

Hello Venus’s Ara and Yoonjo were originally in the line-up for After School

Details regarding Pledis Entertainment‘s upcoming girl group Hello Venus‘s members Ara and Yoonjo have been revealed.

Although dedicated fans of After School may have known, for the general public who have never heard, Pledis Entertainment has unveiled some of those details earlier today. It turns out that members Ara and Yoonjo were previously in a group called ‘Pre-School Girls‘ together, which was a training group for future members of After School.

Ara took first place in Pledis’s 2009 audition program titled ‘Find the 9th Member of After School’ and participated in the 2011 ‘Happy Pledis‘ album. Thanks to her outstanding vocal talents, acting skills, and Japanese language skills, she was chosen as the leader for Hello Venus.

Yoonjo has experience featuring for After School’s first studio album, ‘Dream‘, and is exceptionally youthful looking. She’s acquired a big fanbase since her trainee days.

Pledis officials commented, “Because both of them were so beautiful and talented, we originally planned for them to join After School. However, we believed that they would be able to express more of their charms in our new group, and thus included them in Hello Venus instead.”

Reading this, I wonder...so Eyoung and Kaeun dont have that extra-something-special for them to have been in a group on their own?...Ara and Yoonjo would definitely boost the vocal capabilities of AS (and i wished AS would have a ballad subunit) but i guess, since their look lie more on the girly side...maybe thats why
