NEWS is releasing their comeback self titled album next week

That's why I said should FEEL gets released on 17th July , there's no way Namie's able to get #1

Johnny-san being Johnny-san would do everything it takes to ensure his groups get #1 for their stuff , well for most of them except for V6 , Tackey & Tsubasa , TOKIO which the 3 bands don't have any #1 streak going on for them

At that time when KAT-TUN released RESCUE 4 years ago , they were almost close to losing their #1 consecutive streak single due to Yusuke's debut single Himawari

KAT-TUN barely scrapped & managed to get #1 after Johnny-san announced to fans that should they purchased the CD regular edition of RESCUE , a free poster will be given away , something that I never seen before taking place in a Johnny

Also most importantly this time round , for NEWS , it's their 1st album in 3 years & their 1st album release as a 4 member group too . I wouldn't lie that I'm excited for the release of their self titled album

in general Johnny's albums sell relatively poor as compared to singles

well NEWS's self titled comeback album has 3 editions just like FEEL

Usually for singles , they tend to release multiple editions . Their awesome comeback single Chankapana was released in 6 editions

Johnny's usually don't really do any special live events to begin with

Surely enough it was a "good call" for Namie, because even though I do support Johnny's a bit (such as NEWS), I don't know in some way we consider them "selfish" in terms of getting #1 for its artists... Had Namie released next week rather than this week NEWS would be #1 and she may have not been #1 (most likely #2), I think...

Just wondering here, any Namie AND Johnny's (any group) fans?

Really? I thought they do, do some special live. I haven't follow any of Johnny Boy's since 09, so I really don't know how they work now, haha.

AKB48's 1830m sold really well last year . In general for Johnny's , they suck when comes to selling of albums . Only exception in recent times was ARASHI

It's quite ironic that their 2001 debut album ARASHI No.1 ~Arashi wa Arashi wo Yobu~ sold really poor . At that time it sold a total of 323,030 . They waited for 9 more years before they released Boku no Miteiru Fuukei which sold a million copies within less than a month

I've been in the Johnny's fandom for a really long time that's why I know so haha but yeah to my knowledge , no , they don't really do special live promo for their stuff [unlike events like handshake events which's quite the norm in BREAKERZ's fandom]

at most for Johnny's , it's just them going on MUSIC STATION & other music/non-music variety shows to promote their stuff , that's that

But most likely it would be singles... AKB48 is very strong particularly in singles; I don't see similar success in albums however (though they're still quite successful)...

Popular singer, Amuro Namie has reached the top spot in the albums chart with her 10th original studio album, "FEEL". This is her 6th consecutive no.1 album (excluding re-issues), and her 11th no.1 album overall. The album is now the highest-selling album in the first week for a solo artist this year, surpassing Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's "Nanda Collection" (released in June) which sold 126k in the first week. The album includes songs like "Hands On Me" in which the music video was shot at a heliport with a party at the top of high-rise building, "Contrail" which is the theme song to the TBS drama "Soratobu Kouhoushitsu", and "Can You Feel This Love" which is the theme song to FujiTV's "Mezamashi Terebi", for a total of 12 songs. Amuro will be starting her national tour from August 16th for a total of 40 performances in 24 cities.

In the singles chart, EXILE TRIBE have achieved their first no.1 with their 2nd single, "BURNING UP". EXILE TRIBE represents the EXILE family. This single is a collaboration of Sandaime J Soul Brothers and GENERATIONS. Their 1st single is a collaboration of EXILE and Sandaime J Soul Brothers, "24 karats TRIBE OF GOLD" (released in September last year) which peaked at no.2 in the weekly chart. For each group, this is also the first time for them to reach no.1. Sandaime J Soul Brothers' highest ranking previously was with "FIGHTERS" (September 2011) at no.2, and GENERATIONS' highest ranking previously was also at no.2 with "ANIMAL" (released in January this year).

Meanwhile, 5-member Johnny's group, A.B.C-Z have topped both the music-DVD and overall DVD charts respectively with their latest DVD, "Walking on Clouds". This is their 4th no.1 DVD after "Za ABC ~5stars~" (February last year), "ABC Za Hoshi (Star) Gekijou" (July last year), and "Zutto LOVE" (September last year). This DVD's first week sales has also surpassed the previous work's "Twinkle Twinkle A.B.C-Z" (released in March this year) which sold 34k in the first week. This is the group's 2nd year in a row to have placed no.1 in the overall DVD ranking. Male artists who have previously ranked at no.1 in the overall DVD chart for 2 years and more are A.B.C-Z's seniors namely KinKi Kids, Kanjani∞, and Kis-My-Ft2.
