I just have to say I hate how her hair looked. Not the Crusty scary version, but when she's in the rain. The hair makes her look old.

The song's not bad. Best song since...Tears? Better than Renai Shashin, although I'm a tad disappointed with the arrangements, I think this song has great potential to be a good power ballad, and the too simple arrangement kind of downplays the power, along with her sometimes too soft voice.

Overall, decent song, better than most of the singles she released between 2006 and now, but compared to some of her album works like Sensu, Shabon Dama, Friends, and Haneari Tamago? It lacks something that makes me say "wow, I really love this song".

Kumuriuta is a nice soft ballad, but a bit too soft perhaps? Could have been developed even more? I wanted a power ballad!

The PV is really just weird. I think they shouldn't have included scenes of Ai singing the song in water. It would have been better had she just been floating around. It's out of synch and brings the whole PV down.

I actually really like the feel of the song. It sounds like something I would listen to when I'm depressed and looking at the rain falling outside. I think I just found my new thinking song XD

As for the simple arrangement, I think you should listen to the careful orchestration in the background and how the drums (a sound that's a little different for Ai) coordinates with the piano in the background. And as for her voice being soft, I don't think so. I consider "soft" as when I can barely hear the voice over the background music, and Ai's voice is perfectly distinguishable in this song. Especially during the part where she sings, "Kokoro wa, hontou wa, tsuyoi." The crescendo there is really quite fine.

Not every ballad that Ai comes out with needs to be a "power ballad". Maybe if this were an A-side for a single, that kind of thing would be expected. But seeing as this is an album track, I think it's fine to have this kind of soft melody. From just listening to the lyrics, I think that a REALLY STRONG feel would kind of....wreck the emotion overflowing.

^I'm not gonna quote you coz it would be too long...

But I think I might just have more of a thing for Ai's power ballads, or something like that. I guess the main problem is I actually don't feel anything from this song. Maybe I don't understand Japanese or maybe I just didn't listen to it well enough, but I guess it just strikes me as a more of dull than impact. I also think that Ai's voice is suited more for power ballads than the softer ones, but that could also just be personal preference. Maybe we just have different taste.

I think this is the similar thing for Hikki's be my last, where I thought the simpler arrangement kind of ruined the song for me. I don't mind simple arrangement, I though both Neko ni Fuusen and Kingyo Hanabi was pretty good. But I thought it would be a powerful song from the preview I got at music station and I was disappointed by that (it was the same thing for Renai Shashin). I had hopes when the instrument started to pick up in the middle, but I was disappointed. I guess the overall song is just soft, but the way she sings it gives me a feeling that she doesn't really have much control over her vocals.

Maybe it will grow on me, but I guess these kind of ballads by Ai is just not really my kind of song. So to probably sum up my feeling (at least attempt to): pretty melody and song, but I find it rather dull.

omg yes i agree with this all. i'm new to Ai but suprisingly i preffered her soft songs to her quirky ones. (even if there isn't many of them.)
i like this song because i can already see myself lying down half asleep on the sofa just listening to it.

5 stars. <3

The song is a bit anti-climatic but I feel the emotion is transmitted to a certain extent and it's quite an appealing song for those fans who are used to Ai's mellow ballads. I remember how we used to get a lot of those earlier in her career.

The climax, I think, is near the ending where she raises her voice before the mini-instrumental break--around 3:10 (before it dies down again). That's why this song reminds me a lot of Kingyo Hanabi too---that one isn't really a power ballad...it was really rather mellow throughout the course of the song, with the buildup for the climax at the end.

I personally feel that the instrumental break should've been a little longer, but it's still good the way it is right now
