SNSD (Shoujo Jidai in Japan) is scheduled to release a Japanese version of their popular hit track “Run Devil Run” in Japan. However, it’s not going to be an official single like their previous releases.

Universal Music Japan recently updated their SNSD news page stating that the Japanese version of “Run Devil Run” will be released as a Chaku-uta or mobile ringtone on January 18th. The song will also be available via digital download on January 25th. Although no official date or word was given for an official single release, fans can assume that a Japanese version of “Run Devil Run” will eventually hit stores sometime in the near future.

In addition, the RIAJ has certified SNSD’s December 22nd release of ‘Hoot’ as Gold.

For reference, the RIAJ certifies Gold as 100,000 sales.

I don't have much faith in the Japanese version of RDR.. I hardly even like the original unless they're performing it live. but hopefully it'll be okay.

`it's only confirmed as ringtones, but it's very possible that it'll be released later (maybe when they release their first japanese album?)

oh i hope that after this ringtone release they'll give us dates for a full japanese album!! WITHOUT ANYMORE REMAKES PLEASE!!!! only songs you can make a remake of are their ballads/midtempo songs like ITNW and BabyBaby

yeah it's like.. why would I want to listen to a Japanese version if the Korean versions all sound so much better and aren't "forced" into Japanese that makes them not as catchy. they don't even make any changes in the arrangements either like how they do with some of KARA's Japanese versions, so their Japanese remakes are kinda useless to me

yeah, for us t's really useless at least the japanese fans can enjoy it better because they understand it now

also most of the japanese fans already were soshi fans to begin with, so they already know most of the songs..

I've actually heard that Japanese speaking people have a hard time understanding the songs because of their accents lol
