No, we own this song. Dsign are Universal writers. Girls' Generation / SM were given this song exclusively to record and release.

Due to SM Entertainment's past remake issues, many people were quick to assume that the company had simply bought another already-released song. But, news reports are stating that the song is supposed to be SM's and SM's only. They officially purchased the music from Universal Music Publishing Group on February 1st, 2009, with the song's lyrics and K-pop-ification done by SM-hired Yoo Young Jin and Yoo Han Jin. Universal Music Publishing Group has stated that they believe their song's demo tape was leaked, and is considering legal action against the producers of Dineyra's song.

But regardless of what happens between UMPG and the Uzibekistani entertainment world, the important thing for us K-pop fans is that SM and SNSD are free of any guilt on this particular issue, and that we can listen to "Tell Me Your Wish (Genie)" without any controversies lingering in the back of our minds.

SNSD, who has been surrounded by controversy due to plagiarism claims, have found that it was actually the female singer from Uzbekistan that used the SNSD without permission, and have received a huge shock.

The song had been recently circulating around the the internet titled ‘Tell Me your Wish Original Song’ and caused a stir among netizens. The song ‘Ruqsga Tushgin’ performed by female Uzbekistan singer Dineyra was uploaded on to YouTube in April, sparking rumors that SNSD were plagiarizing music.

However, it was revealed that it was in fact Dineyra, not SNSD, that had used the song without permission.

Universal Music Publishing Group, who own the rights to ‘Tell Me Your Wish’ stated on the 2nd of July that “We do not know who Dineyra from Uzbekistan is, and we have never given her permission to use this song.” and continued to say, “Dineyra’s version is clearly a case of plagiarism.” They also stated, “We will pursue legal action over this blatant plagiarism.” and vented their frustration.

SM Entertainment also released a statement, saying, “The rights to SNSD’s ‘Tell Me Your Wish’ were bought officially from Universal Music Publishing group by SM, and received permission to release it for the first time in the world. We received a demo from the Dsign team, and SM adjusted the song, editing the melody and lyrics to create the new song.” clarifying the rumors.

Well, thank God SM isn't the one copying. (They are known for remaking songs, lots of SHINee's songs are remakes!) I remember the whole Lee Hyori VS Britney thing. It became quite ugly. I'm happy SNSD doesn't have to go through that.

SNSD has set a new record of Music Bank highest score! They had 17,995 points and they are now at spot #1 with the most points ever, just before DBSK with 16,404 points (Mirotic). SNSD didn't get #1 last week because album sales didn't count yet or something like that.

Last night, Taeyeon was rushed to the hospital for what was considered to be flu and tonsillitis symptoms. Hopefully it’s nothing more than that and all she will need is rest and vitamins.

Perhaps this is due to the hardworking schedule of So Nyeo Shi Dae, as they have been working relentlessly to hold the No.1 spot for the summer.

Because this occurred sometime after the Inkigayo performance, this is already old news. But the point is simply for Ningin to wish for Taeyeons recovery. It will be hard for her to sing if she has tonsillitis.

I don't know, her face looks really fake to me, and I get mad when they perform live, because they ALWAYS focus in on her way more than the others (and never give my HyoYeon any camera time! T_T). Plus, I think some of the others girls are prettier than her...so I guess I find her overrated.

But I have to say, she does have a great vocal ability.

It's not that I dislike her, she's just not my favorite, that's all. =D But, like all the girls, she has her strengths and adds to the group.

Fake? Doubtful. But I guess that's your opinion. I want to suggest you to check out her TV appearances to see that you're wrong because she has a wonderful dorky personality that is simply adorable, but I don't want to force you to like her.

When SNSD perform live, they (cameramen + the people who edits the show) always focus on Yoona more than anyone including Taeyeon. She always has the most close-ups. In pictures + dance choreography, she's also almost always in the center. I would say Yoona gets the most attention. Nowdays, Yuri is getting really popular too.

But of course, when it comes to singing they focus more on Tae Yeon because she's the main singer (and the best vocalist IMO) along with Jessica and Seohyun. She often gets more lines + adlibs, therefore she does get more TV close-ups than say Hyoyeon. Hyoyeon is definitely the most underrated and unactive (in activities outside of SNSD's) member.

Well, like I said, she's not my favorite; that doesn't mean I dislike her. I like the whole group, just some more than others.

Yoona has been getting a lot more attention lately; but all my SNSD-fan friends seem to LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Tae-yeon. "oh tae-yeon is an angel. tae-yeon is amazing. Blah blah." And they overlook a lot of the others. So I guess that I just don't focus on her as much, since she gets so much attention anyway. =P

And yes HyoYeon is so underrated!

And I think the majority of Korean celebrities have had some surgery (it seems really popular over there, and I'm sure some of the other girls have had it too). But I don't really care, that's the culture over there. There's just something about her face that scares me. (And it must be ONLY me, because everyone else tells me she has the face of an angel. Once again, it's just my opinion xD) But I really like her voice. One of my favorite songs is "If." And her solo ad-libs in Genie make me go fan-boy crazy. =D

So, I guess ultimately, she's just not my number 1 favorite girl in the group (that's Hyo Yeon), but I don't hate her or anything. [I save that for 4minute LOL] I think she is pretty adorable in interviews. =]

Yoona has been the "center" of SNSD since their debut.

I'm not too sure Taeyeon had plastic surgery. She haven't really changed at all since pre-debut pictures like most SNSD members except for better makeup & hairstyle and looking slimmer. Except Yoona maybe.




Hyoyeon is probably the most underrated because her looks isn't the typical Korean beauty. Which is a shame because she has talent. Especially as a dancer. To me, she's probably the weakest singer but she has been improving!

You're right, I guess HY doesn't fit the typical beauty, but I think she's smoking hot. xD Then again, I don't live in Korea
