I think Microphone has just made its way into my favourite songs top ten. I read the translations Not Yet and oji-i-san posted and I really love the lyrics. I don't think these are so typical lyrics for Ayu, and even if they are, right now I just don't care. The song itself is amazing. I don't remember when I've been so obsessed with a Ayu song. It was probably somewhere around talkin' 2 myself/Together When... release.

+1, as awesome and amazing as I think the song is, I can see how people wouldn't like it sorta... I mean, I may credit it to the quality in some cases, but I can sorta see it.

I seriously find it hard to believe anyone could dislike this song... But I guess if Ayu can finally unite the majority of AHS into a single solid opinion THAT THIS SONG IS GREAT then I suppose someone could try and throw a wrench in the well oiled machine of peace around here xD;

I bet you Japan hates it, I bet you any money . The last time we united to like a song, it was Sparkle, and Japan didn't like Sparkle .

It's definitely our kinda song, it doesn't sound what normally the Japanese buy. I'm slightly worried about this album sales wise, since it doesn't really seem geared towards them...

Not the point. The point is that people will be able to find flaws no matter how perfect something is when it comes to Ayu. I don't give a hoot if people think differently from me. That's how the world works, people aren't all going to love everything you love and not everyone's going to hate what you hate, but at least be reasonable and not say things when it comes to Ayu like "Why is she doing the same thing again? / Why does she just keep making more rock songs? / other things" just for the sake of saying it every time something new comes out from Ayu.

I'm sorry if it seems to you that I'm against people having negative opinions about Ayu, but a lot of the time, I feel it's unjustified and simply for reasons unknown to me. Someone saying "I don't really like this song" in the case Microphone isn't the same as "Wow, Ayu's still boring and crappy as usual" or "Same old Ayu, mediocre music that sounds the same as every other song she's made", if you understand where I'm coming from. (If not, then so be it.)

A lot of this is true; some people just want to be negative every single time. If they're going to have that sort of attitude they should just 'abandon hope' and give up on Ayu.

If you look around, a lot of the time the people who have bad things to say are the same ones almost time and time again.

I actually think I like most other Ayu rock song better but that's probably because I haven't listened to this one enough yet. I am not saying it's bad, or I'm dissapointed. It's pretty genius. Can't wait for the album! Then I'll play the hell out of it and shortcircuit my brain due to how amazing it will be!

Makes sense to me, but I feel like it's a lot better to have fans that are acting like crazy rabid fans (because every fanbase has them) than to have people who basically hate everything after a certain time period from an artist, you know?

A case where people seem to like everything is Lady GaGa. Her songs/videos are very hard not to like (though if you're not into extremes, I suppose you might hate her) and for the most part, I've seen nothing but praise for her.

Random, but someone who seems to have music people like but no one really likes the actual artist = Ke$ha, haha.

Odd... weren't the Japanese the ones saying how God-like this song was? Weren't they giving it a lot of praise? Same with Sparkle? Unless you mean the casual listeners? Because honestly, who cares about those finicky flakes in the wind anymore. They're into boy bands and the next one-hit wonder.

Honestly, I think it's a very difficult song to hate on. I saw someone on another forum try to criticize it but they made no sense and it was obvious they were just pulling things out of their ass to try to somehow "convince" themselves that it's mediocre. It's just not a very hate-able song, kind of like how it's really hard to say anything bad about Sparkle.

Whotf ever said Ayu was perfect, EVER in her career. Ayu has NEVER been perfect or even remotely close to it. That's why I love her, because she's real, she's not always this perfect factory made pop singer.
