The CEO's current track record regarding artists under his label shows that he doesn't make the best decisions on how to move forward with his groups. T-ara is the only revelant group on his record label. He likes to run his mouth about his experience and how the decisions that he makes are supposed to be improvements but we can clearly see that for the majority of his current artists or lack there of is contradictory of what he says. If he feels the need to have to resort to publicity stunts as the sole way to attract attention to his artists than that shows that his 30 years of experience is certainly lacking something because by this time, he should definetely have it together on how to efficiently run a company without resorting to newbie tactics. This is why we are concerned about him making such a drastic decision to a group that has already started to gain success. He has a history of being more damaging to a group than improving it. As the saying goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

I can agree with you on some points. He has a good eye for scouting talents and producing groups, films, dramas, musicals, etc. but not so much with managing them as idols. I understand what he's trying to do in managing them but I don't always agree with it. I think the best thing to do is to try to get a grasp on his way of thinking, acknowledge the group's faults and flaws (and those of KKS), etc. Even though he's had a lot of success in his 30 years, T-ara is the first idol group he created. In some ways I can appreciate the fact that he's not sticking to the formula and trying out different things. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. It does get tiring though, especially as a hardcore fan. But it is what it is. After about three years I've learned to deal with it and always try to see things relating to T-ara from all perspectives, it's easier that way. I do hope that he'll begin to think more about their fanbase in the future!

I think his delivery and how he presents hisself also heightens the concern of T-ara fans. The changes that he's implenting are not unusual because other groups have added members or even adopted the admission and graduation system but the way he speaks of them is very insensitive to the group and the fans. Some of his statements sound downright threatening and in my opinion, there is a more professional way to address a situation. Sometimes it's not what you do but how you do it. It's common knowledge that Korean record labels tend to treat some of their artists like slaves but to come out and be so blatant and disrespectful about it to the public can be detrimental to him and his artists. It may make some people resent T-ara just because they ultimately don't want to put more money in the pockets of a CEO who shows a lack of care for how the fans feel. As a whole, a company should try to respresent themselves in the most positive way possible even if things behind closed doors aren't as good as it seems. Overall, I hope things work out for T-ara. I just don't want them to suffer the same fate as Black Pearl, Coed School, and other groups who seem to have fallen off due to these changes.

That's true, I was actually surprised that he said it all so bluntly! At least this way we're well informed of what the plans for them are? Rather than keeping it all under wraps and giving us even more shocks when we least expect it. The way he worded things about the competitive environment almost seemed to sound like a potential breeding ground for rivalry and resentment amongst the members. I'm pretty sure the girls are smart enough to see past that and are well aware of what such strife could do to their careers both as a group and individuals. After watching them and reading interviews and such for the past few years they've always come across as a bunch of girls who have good heads on their shoulders. Strangely enough, they actually seem to have grown closer to each other over the past year or so, possibly because of the struggles they've all had to go through together. Even Hwayoung who appeared to be a bit of an outsider in the beginning. I'd be upset if any of the current members were to leave the group, but right now I'm not too worried about it as I don't really feel or see it happening any time soon. But like I said before, I'm all for stronger vocals in the group, just as long as they're able to deliver what was promised.

Problem isnt the fact that he is adding two new members, as annoying as it is, it's the fact that he is doing so to create competition between the members and create a living environment where the members always feel like the other is going to get them kicked out of T-ara! That is not a healthy way to run a group, and nothing good can come of it.

Boram has a beautiful voice in case you havent heard her pre debut solo releases... She is one of the most under rated singers

I agree with you. The environment that he intends to create within the group will end up making things worse rather than improving them. Creating a competitiveness that makes people feel like they have to do whatever it takes to stay in the group is animalistic and breeds conflict in my opinion. And like you said, the other girls whose voices aren't showcased as much do have nice voices. They were good enough for them to be selected for this group in the beginning so why is it a problem now especially in the midst of their current success? The logical thing to do is to make changes when things are not going well, not when a group is starting to garner success. And lets be honest, with the addition of two members, they're going to be reduced to being copycats of SNSD with every step they take.

Yea I really don't understand what the hell KKS is doing...

I don't think that just because they have 9 members they are now imitations of SNSD... The number of people in the group doesnt really change what kind of group they are... 0_O like why does no one say OMG MISS A is copying BEG because they are 4 girls... seriously..

Unfortunately, many people have already started trying to compare T-ara and SNSD because of their group size before these two members have even officially been added. As a fan of SNSD and T-ara, it's easy to differentiate between the two as far as their stlyes, music, etc. but some people in the kpop fandom such as extreme fans and antis are already having a field day with this, especially since SNSD is either the only or one of the few girl groups that actually have 9 members. For example, it's more common to have groups with 4 or 5 members so no one really starts comparing based on numbers such as that. As childish as I think this type of behavior is, it's common in the kpop fandom. Petty arguments comparing artists and people having the "this group is trying to be like this group" or "this group is better than this one" are almost inevitable in this fandom. I hate that it has to be that way and that people can't be more mature about it.

[12.04.11] T-ara signs a separate contract with an agency specialized in acting

Girl group T-ara has signed an exclusive contract with an Management Koo, an agency specializing in acting management.

Management Koo revealed the reason they signed the contracts and said on the 11th, "All of T-ara members have been working hard become the best actresses. Not only in Korea, but in Japan and other Asian markets, T-ara are consistently becoming more popular as singers and actresses."

"Compared to other groups, each T-ara member has their own image. In the future, the members plan to be more structured and take on a more active acting schedule, and because of their future plans, we made the contracts with them."

T-ara members are active as singers under Core Contents Media, but their agency decided to give them the help of a professional agency to help them develop their acting careers further.

Management Koo has a system where they help their actors and actresses get professional help in letting their popularity grow in a variety of different acting fields. Their actors and actresses are able to go through smooth casting systems, while being able to get the opportunity to choose the roles of their choice, as well as rights to their modeling/image and various other fields. Management Koo in the future plans to go into film and drama production as well.

Meanwhile, T-ara will begin new album activities in June and then celebrate their 3-year anniversary with their first solo concert and then go on a nationwide tour in Japan.

This is a very interesting development. Prior to announcing the member change, T-ara stated that they would stop acting this year to focus on their music activities. Now they're signing with an exclusive contract with separate agency to focus on acting? I can't definitively speak on what's going on but it seems like they're up to something. Mastering their skills in acting certainly would give them a future outside of singing if they do well. It's good to see them branched outside of CCM though, especially in at least one aspect of their careers.

It just sounds like a back-up plan to me. CCM seems to be filled with people who are actresses-***-singers

It's definitely a backup plan with convenient timing, especially since this agency has no ties to CCM. I wonder why CCM agreed to let them work under another management company for acting instead of their own or even a subsidiary of the company. Isn't that money that CCM is losing that's going to this agency? That's what I find unusual.

Roly Poly jumped from #45 last week to #31 this week The total is 57,532 now. It's the sixth week already but hopefully the sales will remain steady for the next 1-2 weeks, I want them to break 60k!

Also, as of March 31, Lovey Dovey has been downloaded 3,294,359 times. As of right now it's the #1 selling song of 2012! If you were to place this on 2011's annual chart, it would already be #6 and that's only with the past 3 months of sales! This year they should should once again have one of the biggest songs of the year, after IGCBOY at #5 in 2010 and Roly Poly at #1 in 2011.

BTW, it's said that the two new members won't be participating in T-ara's concert tour in June-July.

Eunjung was mugged.

Quote:
T-ara‘s Eunjung has been robbed of a staggering, 23,000 Euros (~ $30,078 USD) while in Italy.

During T-ara’s stay in Italy, Eunjung was put in charge of managing the budget for T-ara and Core Content Media‘s new seven-member girl group.

It has been reported that on April 12th at 5PM, Central European Time, the group took a short break during their photo shoot at a cathedral square in Milano. At this time, Eunjung went to purchase some coffee when she was robbed, losing her handbag to a thief. Although 23,000 Euros were lost from the unfortunate incident, the members’ passports were kept by a different staff member, which is a huge relief.

Regarding the accident, Eunjung expressed grief and sadly stated, “I’m so sorry to T-ara and the other seven members. I will reimburse the money when I return to South Korea.” Meanwhile the other members expressed, “She did her best as our guide. She was robbed while she was working hard, so it’s ok.”

Eunjung also expressed her gratitude to her fellow members who comforted her after the accident, stating, “We were able to successfully complete the filming due to the other members who stood by and comforted me.”

However, one staff member revealed what happened behind the scenes. “After the filming was finished, Eunjung went back to the hotel and cried all night,” he stated.

In related news, videos of T-ara and Core Content Media’s new girl group’s Europe trip have been frequently updated on Loen‘s official Youtube channel.

Is it bad that my first thought was "their CEO is gonna kick her out now?" >_>
