If you don't see the problem with them choosing to not wear it then something is wrong with you.
They're rookies in Japan, no one knows them, no one likes them so going against the tradition just makes them look bad. They were written and edited out of every Japanese news report. That's why the only pictures of them at the event were from Korean fans who flew to Japan. Plus they rapped in Korean in their Japanese song... disrespect. Total disrespect.

anyway, the thing is yeah.. they ARE rookies in Japan so it would APPEAR disrespectful seeing how they outright rejected wearing the kimono. I don't know if any video exists, but did they explain why they wouldn't wear the kimono?

I think if they did (it's a valid reason), they would be excused right? This outright bashing and flaming of our OT6 makes it look like they didn't explain their reasons, or that people are being hateful for the sake of it.

Anyway, it's not exactly their fault. If anything, it's their manager and PR manager's problem to solve tacky issues like this.

I'm gonna guess you're Japanese. Lol, seriously, they're Korean! Why would the accept kimonos? Plus, artists in Japan like NEVER wear kimono. And um, no one likes them? Aren't you just a little biased? And do you know how hard it is to rap in Japanese if you only speak Korean? They probably tried, but I'm sure it was really hard.

I'm just letting you all know that the odds are really stacked against these boys. Doesn't matter what country you're from, if you're so lucky as to get invited to a top designer's fashion show, you don't pick and choose what you wear. Especially if you're trying to ride the Hallyu Wave to get more money from the Japanese.

He also revealed his thoughts: “At the same time, I think the act by our nation’s fans of blindly praising B2ST’s refusal to wear kimonos is not favorable. What would you have done if a Japanese entertainer who participated in a fashion show hosted by Korea strongly refused to wear hanbok? Strictly speaking, wearing traditional costumes has nothing to do with the Dokdo issue or other bitter sentiments. Shouldn’t the problem be considered separately?”

Professor Son finished his writing by saying, “B2ST’s insistence to refuse the kimono is also right. The other insistence that B2ST should take a wide view of a matter and wear the kimono is also right.”

Group BEAST’s activities in Japan have become even bigger.

On March 2nd, BEAST’s DVD <Genesis of BEAST> rose to first spot on the charts of Japan’s largest music store, Tower Trade. This DVD which reached the top as soon as it was released, is holding the first spot for two weeks now. The enthusiasm and fervor of Japanese fans were confirmed after the DVD even grabbed the third spot on the Oricon charts on the 2nd of this month.

On February 16th, BEAST first released their Japanese version of the single <Shock> in Japan. Through this single, BEAST opened fire to full-fledged Japanese activities. With the DVD, BEAST has exceeded expectations on various charts and it is anticipated that fervor will increase with a single that will be released soon. BEAST released their single in time to cross over to Japan and start single promotional activities.

BEAST’s company, CUBE Entertainment officials stated, “Through the last showcase, the members have gained confidence in participating in Japanese activities” and “They are becoming increasily fluent in Japanese and they hope to meet the Japanese fans soon with a good image.”
