I kinda feel the same about her ballads. She has some beautiful ballads like Hana, but she has quite a few horribly generic ballads like Brave, and the only generic song I love by her is Ai no Uta. But, her fast songs always sound different and interesting. Plus, I'm a Kana Nishino fan, and as such I put up with a lot of generic and safe releases. I can handle the occasional generic ballad from Kuu

^ I agree. She usually plays safe with her singles, even more when it comes to ballads, but then there is always something different on her albums like Okay Gosh, that song is eargasmic as hell

Although I love all of kuu's songs, I will admit that her ballads recently like Ai Wo Tomenaide, Brave etc have felt really generic to me and not interested me much, not like her older ballads that had more melody and poppiness to them, I guess is how you would put it? Even though I like her R'n'B ballads like slow, okay, passing by etc, I still think her best ballads for me are her older more JPOP ones. I do like 'say her name' and 'darling' though!

I am more looking forward to listening the full of koishikute than I was Ai wo tomenaide, as well as the PV. The instrumental is a nice piano type mixed with a little yume no uta, and the melody is more catchy, it's nice! And the lyrics are interesting and deep, from what I can understand so far!

Judging from the preview of koishikute:
It's a very basic, generic, overdone etc... ballad
But I couldn't love it more. I usually HATE kumi ballads but this one works. I could listen to this often.
Heck, I may even buy it... Maybe. If it comes with a poster then I'm 100% sold.

Has anyone ever noticed the cute mistake kuu makes at the beginning on GTTT on Music Station? She forgets where she's supposed to be in the dance just before she sings the first verse, and does a little 'ahh!', hahaha, so cute.

I love Kuu's ballads on her albums. Those are the ones that aren't generic. Single wise, kuu plays it safe + profit = Japan buys up her ballad single.

I think this track list is a little bit weird because she would have more songs from JAPONESQUE on it since she couldn't do the tour this year. She would probably use a little bit faster song as a opening song too.

But yes, I do like this track list because TABOO, Promise, Ai no Kotoba, POP DIVA, Moon Crying, Someday and many other favorite songs that I love are on the list. If the track list is really a ballad filled one, then I'll probably cry a lot while watching the DVD when it's released haha♥

Not really liking Koishikute. I wasn't hoping for a "nice" or "sweet little" song That's like half the unmemorable ballads Kumi releases. I wanted something with an epic chorus, something with a more in-your-face winter-y feeling. Something grandeur and somewhat heartbreaking. Looks like once again during this Christmas season I'll have the same old JPOP Holiday playlist on repeat... Haven't added a new Christmas song to the playlist since Days.

and IA no Japonesque tracks safe All For You and Brace sucks but I totally forgot but didn't people vote for the tracklist so maybe the new songs were too new

OMG those were so awesome, especially GTTT! I wasn't expecting it to be so big, I thought it was going to be small like the ETERNITY live, YYUUUSSSSS excited now to see it!! And yes this was the live where they asked the fans to pick the setlist, hence a loooot of ballads! I love the setlist, though!

EDIT: Just listened to Koishikute. I honestly wasn't expecting to like it that much, because the small preview sounded very similar to Ai Wo Tomenaide, but my god, it is so lovely! <3 Very epic chorus and a really catchy and enchanting melody, and oh ma gaa that piano melody hnngngg. A deeply emotive wintery ballad, love it.
