I think that says something about Kuu's market. Its the younger generation that makes up most of the downloaders. As seen in Kana's rank. The cellphone obsessed gyaru love them some serious Kana Nishino. I guess Ayu's music for a slightly older crowd? Or maybe her fans are the dedicated, who have been fans from early on in her career?
