Well, they normally sing live , or at least with playback, so it's not that big of a deal. If they sang Jasmine without lip syncing it'd be a mess...they don't know Chinese except for obviously Junjun & Linlin.

Yeah, that really bothers me. Kimagure Princess I actually like...as a live song but not as a cd track. Live it is fun, but thats about it. Their current single.....I can't even sit through the whole song. It's almost unlistenable and the b-side is far superior.

"Kimagure Princess" is an fun song for me either way. I agree with you about OGMNI the only part I like is the chorus.

I want a next "Resonant Blue", "Shouganai Yume Oibito" and "Nanchatte Renai". Or even a next "Shabondama".

i think that they will need more attitude/energic songs for a change, like "The☆Peace!" or "Koko ni Iruzee"

I think they're too old for songs like Koko ni Iruzee. They're obviously turning away from those sort of songs and going onto more mature ones.

Plus, Mikan was a happy song and it was a disaster.

I think that in order to be more "mainstream" sounding, they can't really do the more fun/goofy type of songs... they've gone for a more mature style now, and the average age of the girls is higher than in earlier times... if they add in younger girls 9 Gen, then I can see them doing more singles that are more genki. Not that I don't love those kinds of songs, I just don't think that they work with the current line-up.

There were several relatively old members durring their peak time and that is also when the released the craziest songs. I think going in that direction again will only help, not hurt them. They need to get Dance Man back.

From an outsiders perspective the current Morning Musume looks and sounds very bland. Part of what made them stand out in the past were the crazy arrangements to the songs. Everything just screamed fun then and it was a great kind of release for the Japanese public and it really didn't matter what the age of the members were - they encompassed a very large age span.

I think its very telling that it seems even among their fans that the best overall received song this year was 3,2,1 Breakin' Out and that is the one that is the most reminiscent of the "old" Morning Musume.

Where are you getting the notion that 3, 2, 1 BREAKIN' OUT is the best received? I'm pretty sure it was Nanchatte Renai - that appealed to a lot of people, but it might also have to do with how well it was promoted/multiple B-sides.

^ I said that's the way it seemed to me judging by message board/fan comments etc. and that song is definitely more old school Musume sounding. I love Nanchatte Renai too though. But what helped to draw the Japanese general public to Musume were not songs like Nanchatte Renai.
