Um I hate to make comparisons but the lyrics almost (at points) remind me of something Ayu would write. Not that that's a bad thing (since I love Ayu's lyrics anyways)...I just thought it was kind of interesting. Regardless, they are very beautiful lyrics.

And Goodbye Happiness is really nice! Very catchy...Very Hikki in nature . The PV was cute too!

After rewatching the video a couple of times... I really like it.
I'm not usually one to come up with deep, over analytic meanings but I think this video might have one of those.

There's something about the video that makes me feel like Utada's supposed to be portraying us, her fans, all the way through her career. Showing how we sang and danced along and got really excited, even going Kuma-crazy with her... And then it seems after the bridge, she's portraying herself and she's saying the she loves us too! Then she does the tribute to traveling and it's like she's asking us to hang in there til her hiatus is over.

Haha, I don't know. I think that'd be touching.

It just...well, when she left the room on this 'journey', I felt she was telling us that she's been in that room, performing, singing and dancing, all her life. And now she's finally leaving.

I really like the pv. Its cute and no one can go wrong with a cute pv of baically being themselves. I love when artists do that. And hikki was so adorable here
I don't think the pv matches up to the awesomeness of the song but if this is what hikki wanted to portray then that fine. Its herself

The screencaps didn't really do the justice. Of course, the pv probly has nothing to do with the song, and I do wish the pv will be more melancholic. But since I know hikki is the director of this pv, I dun expect to see a proper pv.

Anywayz, I laughed several times throughout the pv. I really love the Automatic part. It suddenly brings me back to 1999, the time I watched the (poorly made) pv. I also love the beginning, when she showed the board of "A Utada Hikaru Production". It reminds me all kiriya-directed pvs. Ahh... this pv made it so personal between herself and her fans. I can see why they just include this pv in the dvd because of this reason.

I'm sure her next pv will be more serious. I hope it'll be at least on par with HEART STATION (not a good pv, but not be bad either). I can't withstand another POL pv..

as much as i don't think the PV fit the song, i still really love it, lol. utada looks AMAZING, and that whole room was adorable! i catched the automatic reference when she sat on the yellow chair, but after reading some replies, i catched the traveling reference as well. it's seriously such a creative PV (UTube ) but i imagined something...dramatic? the song is called "Goodbye Happiness" but the PV is so happy, lol. at first i didn't know if i loved the PV, but after watching it like 3 times, i really do love it. and the song is still amazing, too. i also thought the dancing in the first chorus was kinda...JE-ish, LOL. it's probably just me.

anyway i kinda hope amorphose's theory is true, though, cause that'd be so nice! either way, i'll miss utada and if there's not 1 more PV, then i'll wait until she returns to music again. i'm SO relieved to hear that she signed a new contract with EMI, though.
