Ayumi's main selling point and marketing strategy was NEVER the music itself though. Even in her early days it were the lyrics, then later it was an image, then constant reinvention. She doesn't even particularly draw attention to herself right now, other people are giving her the attention by making something simple and common into a big deal.

If you think about it, she probably just wanted to make things clear (as Ayu always does) rather than have people speculating. "Who is that Caucasian male with her? A lover? A new friend? Why is she acting so lovey dovey with that dancer? Are they in a relationship? Is she pregnant?" The low key nature of the relationship with Nagase was probably mostly because he's a part of Johnny's Entertainment more than anything. If he were not also a pop star, I wonder if she'd have been more open about it.

I'm pretty sure some people and tabloids thought Timmy was potentially one of her new lovers if they had no idea who he was since he tags along with her essentially EVERYWHERE SHE GOES.

i still disagree. you can't get to fully know someone in just that short amount of time imo especially for someone like ayu who has a busy/crazy life.

You dont get to know someone completely before you marry them. You get to know them and grow together through out the time that you know them.

being "in love" isn't the same for everyone so what does me ever being in love have to do with this? i've had so many friends be together with someone for like 2 weeks and say they were "in love" but break up a month later oop. you can know someone for only 2 months and have a marriage last a lifetime...for the average person that's not the case tho and don't try and deny it or else there wouldn't be such a stigma about marrying someone you "just met". that stigma exists for a reason and it clearly didn't work for ayu
