Namie Amuro has filed a lawsuit in Tokyo District Court against the publisher for tabloid, Shuukan Josei for damages amounting in 22 million yen (approx. $205,000 USD) for violating her privacy. The magazine printed in their June 10th edition images of Amuro and her son, Haruto (10) out shopping and describing details of their outing. Amuro made comments expressing that she did not want her private life to be exposed publicly and she was looking to the courts to make sure this incident does not happen again.

Yeah, I agree with dddaiyamondo. Celebrities have pictures of their life taken all the time, and what the tabloid published wasn't damaging at all. It was rather harmless, so she can't really do something like that.

most american celebrities don't really mind when tabloids take simple pictures, the camera people aren't pushy, the tabloids don't publish insulting things
namie is too uptight i think when it comes to her son, unless the tabloids bombarded their house for pics, then namie can sue
