Probably because it's entertaining in a weird way, even if the argument was annoying.

I dun even think we should focus on the time length of her production, because it has nothing to do with the quality of her music. Look, the time between First Love and Distance was about 2 yrs (even tho she produced 4 singles in between). The result is another so-so R&B-pop album. Then she released DEEP RIVER 1.25 yrs later, which was a superior album (in fact, it was the most critical acclaim album during that era). Hence, it's more about how well her idea flows while making albums. So far, nothing of the album are bad (even I think Distance is a bit boring, it's still above standard).

And also, please focus on the reason of her hiatus. It's not because she's running out of idea (if so, those 5 new songs will be cursed by fans. Yet I dun see much complain except the French song). She goes on hiatus because she is trying to live like a normal person, wants to learn to take care herself instead of being surrounded and protected by her management.

Because we miss her ... We pretend that she's still active right now until we are running out of things to discuss about her. Then this thread will go on hiatus as well until she's back to music... I hope AHS is still here by then, or more importantly, most of us will still be here...

I don't feel like her Hiatus has begun yet. It didn't dawn on me that the Concert was her last thing to do and then bye bye.

I'm still in "What's Next" mode. I guess those Song Tie Ins are what is keeping me going and staving off the impending depression.

Wonder how long Single Collection Vol. 2 is going to chart. It's still No. 3 in the dailies.

I was a little annoyed at first cause I like sparkly, pretty first posts~ But there's not exactly loads of news coming in that needs organising so it's not a big deal. As Jackie said, next time we should choose who wants to make the next one instead of just...waiting lol

I think before utada goes on hiatus we will get in the flesh. i mean, they said they have everything squared off and ready to go, they're just picky about what format they want. apparently dvd is too easy of a choice.
Quote:
Utada: Let's release it on DVD!
Teruzane: No! That's just what they're expecting us to do!
Then I hope some time before march, we get a dvd release of wild life, and i hope to top it all off, we get UH5.

Of course, I'm just hoping for all this. But I feel like if she released those 3 things, she'd be all ready to go for her hiatus and no unfinished business to attend to. She doesn't even really have to do anything about the releases either. I say she goes on hiatus and let's her company deal with the releases.

i found this on http://www.theprophetblog.net/

Hikaru Utada’s recent WILD LIFE farewell concert has become the most watched broadcast in USTREAM history.

The Wednesday show was simulcast at 64 movie theaters around Japan. The December 8 concert was also broadcast on Ustream.tv, a live video streaming website. Between the two channels set up for the concert, they were accessed a total of 925,000 times, with 345,000 unique viewers, as well as 185,000 comments left on the feed. This was a global record on Ustream.tv, for the highest number of simultaneous accesses of any video, with the previous highest being only 100,000.

The overwhelming interest in the concert is a true testament to Utada’s popularity, and how much she’ll be missed by fans everywhere when she begins her indefinite hiatus next year.

Hikki’s second greatest hits compilation ‘Utada Hikaru SINGLE COLLECTION VOL. 2′ was released in Japan late last month, shooting straight to the top of the Japanese Billboard charts and going Double Platinum in under three weeks. The album’s lead single “Goodbye Happiness” has also proved to be a big hit, topping the Hot 100.

WILD LIFE will be replayed on January 22nd in Japan as a concert special. Fingers crossed that a DVD follows soon after.

This is so great!!!!!!!!!!!

925,000 viewers? omg! come on! it was so close to 1 million. I would have loved to have seen it get that high.
