It was their 3rd annual concert called Kouhaku Taikou Utagassen. try to google it for more info.

Kouhaku is their version if the tv show.
This year rocked. The focus was sooooooo on the new gen I simply loved it!

And yes, Acchan's single was postponed... and now falls in the middle of a string of releases:

26 febr: AKB's 35th single
5 march: Acchan's 4th single
12 march: HKT's 3rd single
19 march: SKE's 14th single

Nogizaka46 also announced their 8th, but no date was given. I guess after March 26th.
No single for NMB yet... but I guess we'll see a performance of a new song in their own Saitama concert.

As for concerts, I think the Budokan series is the "go-to" performance.You have a whole concert for every group plus the KKS one. Better than trying to see a single member among the whole 48 family lol

AKB concerts are usually concerts with aaaaaaaaaaaall the groups in it. While the sister groups have their own concerts and tours on their own, AKB has to share mostly everything cause they're the mothership.

That's why the Budokan series was so well received, it was the first time in years that AKB had a concert that they could call AKB-only. And the same is happening in March with the Olympic Stadium (while the sister groups will perform at Saitama Super Arena), which will probably be Yuko's graduation.

OMG new album is released and it outsold 1830m!!!! first day sales - 848 058!!!! 1830m had "only" 625 401 copies sold!!!

yaay! I'm sure we'll reach 1 million very soon.

Those sales numbers...that just put 1830m to shame. And maybe the other albums for 2014...we're only in January still!!! We "still only" have 11 months remaining in the year!!!

I was thinking the theatre versions added to the huge sales then 1830m, as the previous 2shot event was random lottery at the event, this is the first time that you can lottery for certain members during earlier rounds. Yay!

I'm waiting for resale rounds to start, hoping to win at least a ticket for Takamina & Yuko. It's my last chance to see Yuko in AKB48 event

Just heard about a creation of a new team!!! AKB48 Team 8! Sponsored by TOYOTA. The concept is "idols who come to see you" or smith like that. The new team will consist of 47 members. The auditions start tomorrow.

I'm quite shocked :/

I would never buy an akb48 album, I think I would never listen to all songs on it, I wonder if people really listen to the 20+ songs

As for the Team 8 thing... it seems it won't have 47 people, but they will select the 16 that will go into the team from the 47 of those prefectures.

- I'd like to get to know the new girls as well as I know the old faces of AKB but have no idea who the hell the new girls are. Or the popular ones now for that matter. I'm 1st generation school. So what is it that I can watch/read to understand a bit of the current akb dynamics? something like AKBINGO? are the newest episode available anywhere?

-Is there a place to watch in streaming some or all of their lives? from which one do you recommend start watching them? I have never seen an akb live.

- Any blog/site which updates the news about akb? preferable not a forum. So that I can keep up with them without going mad.

I'd like to get deeper into them so please help a fellow fan ^^
