Yeah, I do kinda think at this point L'Arc maybe just need to announce they're disbanding. I'd be gutted but at least we'd know what's going on. It feels like they just reunite for a massive 2 day sell out concert every couple of years having previously released a single so they have at least some new material on their setlist, get the money and then go back on a break.

We just seem to get Vamps announcements of tour after tour and every time a tour finishes I hope for some L'Arc stuff but another long tour is then announced.

Obviously I want all the guys to follow whatever projects makes them satisfied but it's frustrating not knowing whether L'Arc are ever going to be active again. Either come back properly or break up and continue with your other projects.

The 1 good thing is L'arc is still active even though their music related activities have not been as consistent as before . You look at Janne Da Arc who have not been active since 2007 , they more or less can be considered as disband

I feel that hyde is more himself when he's in VAMPS . He seems more distant & cold when he's in L'arc and I get the feeling the members are not close outside of their personal lives and they're professionally only

VAMPS has done a lot of touring the last few years , same with Acid Black Cherry . I'm not surprised this happens as touring from 1 country to another is punishing , physically & mentally

And I agree , waiting for L'arc news is frustrating and releasing only 1 single per year over the past 2-3 years ain't worth . I don't mind if the singles are great & mind blowing but they weren't to me :x

VAMPS to go on hiatus

It's been announced that VAMPS will go on hiatus in December.

The rock duo explained, "We felt overheated in our activities and needed a cooling-off period." On resuming their activities in the future, they commented, "When we return to our normal temperatures and there is hope for our return, we will make the most frightening comeback."

VAMPS formed in 2008 with HYDE (Vo / L'Arc-en-Ciel) and KAZ (G / OBLIVION DUST). This year, they released their fourth original album "UNDERWORLD" in April and held a nationwide tour which recently wrapped up on November 5.

Forgot to say this but I find it odd & a bit surprising VAMPS chose to go on hiatus now especially since 2018 is their 10th anniversary

Shouldn't they decide to go on hiatus after they celebrate their 10th anniversary ? o_O That would make more sense

Yes, I get the impression they don't see each other much outside of their bi-yearly or whatever concerts. I wish I liked Vamps music more as Faith is a great album. I do like a handful of Vamps songs but they have never clicked with me enough to buy all their albums. I also prefer Hyde's performing style with L'Arc.

It's a shame it's ended up the way it has although I suppose it does often end up this way with bands who have been on the go for a while. I wonder if Tetsuya, Ken and Yuki are that bothered by L'Arc any more or if they're just showing up for the pay cheque. If not, I almost wonder if they should get a new vocalist or if Tetsuya could take over himself on some of the songs. I'd actually be open to that.

Otherwise I think an official breakup might do them so good so they won't feel obliged to reunite every couple of years.

I'd forgotten about Vamps' 10 anniversary! I remember buying their first single being excited to hear what Hyde's new project would sound like. I wonder if Hyde is still going to do his solo concert coming up this month? Which, actually, if I remember correctly I think Ken was going to be a part of?

I don't listen to VAMPS so I do not know if their music is better , similar or worst than what L'arc offers

But what I can say is after being in a band for so long , things will change and sometimes it might change for the good or not

I don't think L'arc will disband because they're still influential as they still can sell out Domes & all that

If they really disband , I think it will be devastating as they've been around for so long . I suppose if they want to do that , they would have disband a long time ago & not now

In a way I wish L'arc will treat their fans more respectfully because I don't think it's nice where you keep sitting around & waiting for them to come back where fans kept guessing what will be their next music related move

HYDE Christmas Concert 2017 -黒ミサ TOKYO- took place this weekend at Chiba's Makuhari Messe

Ken was the guest guitarist . Both dates of HYDE Christmas Concert 2017 -黒ミサ TOKYO- were sold out and 24,000 fans attended both concerts

hyde performed 18 songs in total which he sang a mixture of his own solo songs , L'arc & VAMPS material

Wow that Hyde setlist is amazing! I really hope we will see a release for this one. Also about Vamps going on hiatus; I think it's a good thing because Vamps music got stale sounding imo. Maybe this will be a return to L'arc or possibly Hyde's other solo material?

L'Arc~en~Ciel Announces First Live Album "25th L'Anniversary LIVE"

L'Arc~en~Ciel will be releasing a live album for the first time.

The album is titled "25th L'Anniversary LIVE" and will be released on March 28.

On April 8 and 9, 2017, L'Arc~en~Ciel celebrated its 25th anniversary with concerts at Tokyo Dome. The new album will contain live recordings from the concerts.

The album will come in one version containing 2 CDs. On May 30, the concert video footage will be released on both DVD and Blu-ray formats. A limited edition version of the Blu-ray release will come with 3 addition performance not included on the other versions.
