I think she should rest but I know it'll affect her career but who cares it's for her well-being. She said something like she loves working so much that it's lonely if she's just doing nothing but I have to say it's really time for her to take a rest and come back with a bang.

A year or 2 of hiatus will definitely help.
I think she should rest her voice no vocal training and stuffs.
Just plainly rest it until she couldn't bare it and she writes awesome stuffs that was kept inside her for a long time LOL

People are saying things which make 100% but regarding the hiatus...I doubt she'll go on one. She has too much to lose right now.
Ayu is close to breaking some srs records, which obviously I would rather her be HEALTHY, but she isn't going to stop until she breaks them.
Let's take Namie for example, Namie went on a hiatus at the height of her popularity and ONLY JUST has she regained it. Ayu right now is NOT at her peak, her peak ended so long ago, can you think how adversely it'd effect her streaks?

I'm not trying to sound like I want her to carry on even if she needs rest, I'd personally rather her rest immediately, but I just don't think a hiatus is going to happen any time soon...

^ The hiatus isn't was killed Namie for those few years, though... But I get what you're saying. Since Ayu's been out the entire time, every single year for over ten years now, people will probably be able to move on kinda easily if she goes on hiatus for more than a year, or maybe only a few months. I dunno... She's one of those fairly steady artists, so maybe it wouldn't make a difference.... We'll probably never know, of course.

i think it isn't really simple for her to take a break because she is tied to a contract. avex is selling her out since her debut. i don't think they care much for her taking some time off or her voice quality either - as long as she stays on top, releases 1 album a year, sells records and goes on extensive tours. they rely on her popularity status and reputation and it works. she has a strong fanbase that will buy everything she releases.

this is coupled with her own ambition to do everything 100%. she won't take a break anytime soon i think, altough i would like her to.

p.s: i have to watch her recent performances, but i do prefer her more mature voice to her squeaky voice she had when she was starting out. she is capeable of so much more, and far more experimenting, compared to earlier. maybe she just had a bad day?

She sounded spot on, to me.
I think these newspaper reporters need to leech off another celebrity's popularity to make sales.

Edit: So I just watched said preformance and seriously, it wasn't nearly as bad as "Because of You" on CDL 2009-2010. Watching Ayu screw up doesn't make my ears bleed. When she did "Because of You" in CDL I couldn't bare it and had to fast forward. It's not a great preformance, but she's had worse recently.
