kuu with a best+original album that had a huge promotion can barely outsell TRICK if at all. I doubt that ayu with just an original album can outsell NEXT LEVEL though Sunrise was a hit song but it's not enough to make it sell better. >_>

imo it's kind of tiring and frightening to guess her album sales... when we never know what will happen.

unfortunately but true

NEXT LEVEL was released in 4 editions but its total sales were still lower than GUILTY .__.

I know that there're people on here who does care how much her 11th album will sell but I personally don't though

That also shows how irrelevant the singles are for the sales of an album.

I am not trying to say that she isn't popular ^^ And sure it's a little stupid to compare the album sales from a few years back, but the fact is Namie is more popular now than she was when PLAY was released, it is natural her album sales will be higher, still it's also very obvious that BEST FICTION did way better, considering that even the best of albums aren't what they used to be (take GReeeN or BoA for example) and that Namie's popularity has dropped a bit from the time BF was released.

Hopefully the next Ayu album will be able to at least cross 300k as she doesn't usually drop like insane. The sales are just fun to discuss, I don't take them seriously

Maybe Ayu just needs to plaster her face across every magazine under the sun for her album sales to increase.

She needs to hold off on releasing for a bit, in my opinion.
I love her stuff. I really do.
But she will ALWAYS see dropping sales unless she teases fans for a while..
I mean, Days/GREEN did super well because it, for one, had GREEN in a CM long before the announcement for the single, IMO.
She created buzz, and demanded that her fans wait.
I think she should not release ANYTHING for like...a year.
Then come back with like three killer singles and an amazing album, you know?

I think Days/GREEN did well because of the 10th anniversary thing and maybe the four version thing as well. That, and Days was a pretty big hit. GREEN, not so much and no one cared about it, haha.

i think the reason Days/GREEN did so well is because it was A.) People could relate to Days B.) Limited Special Long Deluxe Case C.) Re-recording of LOVE ~destiny & TO BE D.) 10th Anniversary

just wondering..if the album came out after the concert begins (April 13 or 14) would it harm the sales very badly?

maybe yes maybe no ?

cos I initally thought that her new album might be released on 7th April since the tour will start on 10th but it doesn't look like so now .__.

somemore AKB48 might be a threat to her since they will put out their best album on that day

I honestly think you can't compare Namie's sales and Ayu's sales.
Namie release less while ayu releases quite a lot I know she used to release a lot more but that's different because that was on her peak years.

I think releasing less stuffs really do affect your sales.
I bet people think like this when buying a new Namie Release "Oh I haven't heard from her in a long while I think I'll buy this since her previous single was good"
and probably people think like this when buying an Ayu Release "I just bought her singles and album not long ago so I guess I won't buy it for now"
I'm not a mind-reader I'm just guessing xD

Times are hard so it's obvious sales are decreasing.

^ Considering the drop from WILD/Dr. one could then wonder if they really liked 60s70s80s...

^ 60s70s80s is triple A-side which is uncomparable with WILD/dr. the double A-side

Maybe it would actually boost the sales if the album came out after the first concerts, but that the people can already buy the album there. If that would be fair ;p

It's a single by the same artist. It's very comparable, just because it had one song less it doesn't mean it couldn't sell the same way. Look at M and SEASONS and then compare them to A and H, some were released after the others, some had no PVs and manage to outsell the other ones even the ones that had 3 songs Not to mention that if we didn't compare Namie's old sales to 60s70s80s we wouldn't know her popularity raised. You can't have one without another.

but the fact they still could not manage to outsell A even just 300K less, right? when H release her sales slightly drop but it managed to grab #1 yearly position. mostly artist will sell more if it'd triple A-side or quad-A. take another example &->Forgiveness or Kuu 4 hot wave->Yume no uta. her 3 SPLASH is exection anyway

Don't forget that in 2003 everyone's sales dropped drastically. The difference from 4 HOT WAVE -> Yume no uta was less than 90k. I think that the fact that 4 HOT WAVE had all those CM tie-ins meant more than the number of songs, considering that not all the four songs were equally popular. 3 SPLASH just showed how the number of songs and the PVs on the single does you little when you're not that popular
