Kanjani8′s Murakami and Okura attend anime movie event

Crayon Shinchan couldn’t help but be happy when a large number of women showed up to the anime’s movie’s opening event in Tokyo on April 16 where Kanjani8 members Shingo Murakami and Tadayoshi Okura also appeared, reports Oricon and Eiga.com.

The two Johnny’s talents made their voice acting debuts in the latest Crayon Shinchan movie “クレヨンしんちゃん 嵐を呼ぶ黄金のスパイ大作戦 (Crayon Shinchan Arashi wo Yobu Ougon no Spy Dai-sakusen)” playing a bad guy duo.

“I was so thrilled to be Shinchan’s co-star, I’ve been watching him for years,” said Okura.

“I want to become a Johnny’s spy and find out the truth about a lot of things,” said Murakami with a sneaky grin.

The movie follows Shinchan as he becomes a spy and goes on dangerous missions and adventures with Lemon, a mysterious girl spy.

It has been reported Murakami and Okura used their Osaka dialects to their best in the movie, although getting what the director had wanted was more difficult than said.

“I was nervous about watching myself in a movie with Shinchan. But this has been something really special to me,” Murakami said.

“(Voice acting) was really hard, and it took hours of practice to get it right. To be honest, I’m still not sure how to do a few things,” said Okura before Shinchan made the crowd laugh by responding to Okura’s comments with, “both of you did sort of good”.

With Johnny’s talents being involved with this movie, it has been reported today’s crowd was made up of an unusually large number of women.

“There are so many girls who are in the crowd as well as families. I’ve been working on Shinchan for 20 years so I know how much Shinchan likes pretty girls. I guess it’s his lucky day,” said Crayon Shinchan’s voice actor Akiko Yajima.

Kanjani8′s song, “Yellow Pansy Street” has already been announced as the movie’s theme song.

Kanjani8’s Maruyama Ryuhei to make his first film appearance in “Wild 7″

Kanjani8 member Maruyama Ryuhei will make an appearance in the upcoming movie, “Wild 7“, which Eita also stars in.

This year, Maruyama made his stage debut as the lead star in “Gilbert Grape“, and now he will be challenging the movie scene.

“Wild 7″ is originally a popular manga written by Mochizuki Mikiya, and it was serialized on “Weekly Shonen King” from 1969~1979 (Weekly Shonen King stopped publication in 1988). It’s a story about seven special police officers (Wild 7) who were selected among villains, and they combat criminals and terrorists.

Maruyama’s role will be one of the members of Wild 7, “Pairou”, who is the specialist in mechanics and demolition. Maruyama got a medium-sized motorcycle license for the role, as well as large motorcycle license, since there will be many motorcycle action scenes in the movie.

Maruyama commented, “Since this is my first appearance in a movie, I’m very excited to challenge the new world. I want to learn a lot from the co-stars and the staff, and enjoy the shoot.”

“Wild 7″ is planned to be released this winter.

Kanjani8 tops the Oricon chart for the third time in a row

Kanjani8’s 16th single “T.W.L/Yellow Pansy Street” has entered the May 2nd Oricon Weekly Single Chart at the number one position. The group sold 201,000 copies in their first week and this marks their third consecutive first place single since the release of “Wonderful World!!” last June; their 11th overall.

this song is probably my most favorite "ballad" from kanjani8. it just doesn't get old! and the PV was simple but still nice. overall, a very nice single! eito are on a roll!
