Okay, listened to the album today. Been a longgggg time fan of Namie (maybe 11 years), though the last several years I've only listened to her when her albums come out. So it was interesting to listen to an album where I haven't heard all the singles that were previously released.
So... my thoughts are, that the album is OK. I don't hate it, I don't love it. From her new era (STYLE onwards), I still love Queen of Hip Pop the best, and then Past < Future right behind it. I find Uncontrolled a little bland and forgettable to be honest. It's just simply an OK album... and I'm a bit disappointed. |

I'm just kind of disappointed overall now that I've had a few days to listen to the whole thing.
To me it just doesn't feel like the album has any flow. Maybe it's because 75% of it was already out before and had to be put on there somehow (except it didn't), but I just hear one song and think, "Oh right, that's where they put this one", and not "Whoa, what a perfect transition from the track before", like on some albums. Not only that though, but the English versions of GR and YO are messes compared to the originals, Hot Girls is still crap and In The Spotlight (Tokyo) sounds so typical to me I just want to shut it off, even though I do still kind of like it. I don't want Namie to become the American artist she seems to have become with this album. I hate American music right now, and for my favorite singer to try and go for that style...it's not good.

I mean with that type of woman like Namie, who barely show off her feeling to ppl, she needs someone who is different, talkative and more open to work with X) I'm glad she found them. She smiled alot in the press conference~ they also showed up some old picts of her crying at the airport to compare with the 2012 mess ;_;

She said when she's not in a good mood, she would just eat a lot. She loves yakiniku. Towards the end where she was smiling a lot, it was because she was thinking about yakiniku lol And at the end of the report, they expect Namie to hold a concert in Taiwan next year.
