@ ashen twilight I mentioned this back when it was mentioned that RedOne was working on Colours, but I want this new song to sound like "Lonely Lisa" by Mylene Farmer. That style of song would totally fit Ayu and it's by RedOne. Listen to it!!

Yeah I did too and posted the same videos above haha. And I think we both agreed a year ago that Lonely Lisa would be something right up Ayu's alley.

Mylene style is nice. But I doubt we will get a song like Lonely Lisa. XOXO was not Mylene or Gaga style, It was AYU style (XOXO sounded like a song created for an improved version of Party Queen).

I feel this minialbum will be a mixture between CoLOURS and A ONE: Classic AYU (Last Minute) x EDM AYU (XOXO).

I don't see the point of hoping it will sound like something you can hear from other artists. Especially if those artists are mainstream.
If I want to listen to something Gaga or Farmer have already done I would listen to them. And the fact is I absolutely don't want to hear them.

I want something fresh, creative, professional. I'm sick of pop stars recycling, copying each others, using the same producers.

I know pop is supposed to be commercial and safe but ayu has already proved she can put her voice on something a bit different.

But that's the thing. Ayu never did pop stuff with American producers. So she did put her voice on something different, music composed and arranged by non-Japanese producers. I like the aspect of Ayu experimenting with compositions like that. And yes, if you want RedOne go listen to J.Lo or pre-Born This Way GaGa, but it doesn't hurt hearing Ayu's vocals and lyrics.

And besides, Ayu + RedOne have proven to work out well; and they all obviously like working together. Slay me Ayu.

Already discussed why XOXO sucks.

It's because there is no clear distinction between chorus and verse.

I mean, you know what the chorus is supposed to be, but it just kind of arrives out of nowhere, like "Oh, I guess this is the chorus." Where as, in most songs, there is a build up, you can feel the tension and anticipation rising, and the chorus kind of explodes, the mood of the songs shifts (usually heightened), and the tension is released. XOXO is just kind of one giant pink blur. It just doesn't deliver on the "excitement" level, and I expected RedOne to bring the party and a bit more energy (as his choruses are usually more of a BOOM and are great at making the listener anticipate that part of the song).

Let me say it in this way - As long as there is no song like Angel, B&D, Party Queen, ESM, the next LOVE, I will be fine.
