Kim Jong Kook (born April 25, 1977) is a South Korean singer.

He is now 31 years old, so 29 when he entered the military.

In order to fulfill his duty to perform two years of mandatory service, Kim Jong Kook entered the military in 2006. However, he is still involved in the music business, releasing a fourth album in early 2006. Unable to directly promote it while in the military, he has taken to using unorthodox methods in order to do so. In order to comply with Korean law, the music video was shot so that his face would never be seen on screen. Also, in order to raise awareness, Kim's rumored girlfriend Yoon Eun Hye was asked to star in the music video. Though there has been no direct promotion, his latest album has sold in excess of 100,000 copies. It was announced in late April 2008 that the singer would end his military service on May 23, 2008.

That means that the TOHOSHINKI-boys still have some time untill they have to go to the military.

I hope the same happens as in Belgium: in 1994 the national service got suspended and nobody got a call anymore to fulfil the service. In Belgium, boys of 18 had to go to the army to fulfil the national service (my dad had to go), but now boys of 18 can concentrate on studying at university or on starting to work.

I don't understand the purpose of mandatory military service, I just don't. Personally, I feel the more you train a people, the more likely it is for there to be wars. I'll be incredibly sad the day DBSK leaves for the military ;_;

EDIT: I shudder at the thought of what Cassiopeia will do when this day comes...

I totally agree with you.
What would Cassiopeia do?
a) National protest (compare with the demonstrations in America with the Vietnam war)
b) Force the government to change the law
c) kidnap the members
d) ...
