Because they so badly thought that Ayu was a match for Namie (and her popularity) and want Ayu to surpass the kween of originality (lulz) when many of us have told them that ayu's stuff isn't that hot anymore. She'll be lucky to get 400k to 500k in her first week. IMO, she'll prolly crack the top 10 for a lil while and then drop outta top 10 by the end of the year. Although the AC won't be a flop, it certainly ain't get'n to a million no time soon. Maybe, just maybe it'll rise on the weekend. I doubt she'll get 200k her second week. =/ B'z are releasing next week and they are gonna take all the spotlight from AC.

people should be happy with the sales already even though it's dropping. Some ppl thought A complete would end up selling about 400k in total...with reasons like A BEST 2 was just released last year and so on. Its only 3 days and its already near 400k. It's annoying seeing some of the ppl here make such big deal about the drop in sales...its not like its the first time. Ayu's sales are very front loaded if you pay attention to her sales.

^Well, that's what too much expectation will get you. I totally agree with you tho Ayumiko. I think she'll be able to get to the 450k - 500k mark by the end of the week. At this point, I think she'll surpass Hikki's 1st week sales so that's a plus for most of you I guess. She might get a boost over the weekend if AVEX offers some more stuff with the purchase of AC or she might get it due to her concerts or something. =/

People are even saying you can't compare Best Fiction and AC, then you also can't compare Heart Station with AC cause heart station isn't a best of album And Best Of albums usually do better in Japan.

Yeah they might offer some more stuff with AC! They might offer some more stuff to people who bought it months ago and didn't get anything! xD

right now her total sales are 219 711 (no X factor), with three more days
IIIF she has a "mirrorcle world" weekend, then shell have sales of 75% on her second day and a last day with sales of her second day, theoretically, cause that's what happened with mirrorcle world
so... i guess itll go 53K -> 70K
and if tomorrow she sells another 30K she'll have 650K total

lol but that's a pretty big assumption with ayu's traditional declining sales
but that the ultimate best case scenario

I told y'all I had a hunch this one will flop. First, there;s nothing new, and yeah all those songs are pretty boring rite now, what more can you expect. What a terrible 10th anniversary for Ayumi. I do hope for the best tho'

the thing with MW...she had concerts and gift giveaway campaigns on that weekend which result in boost of sales. I don't think A Complete will have such boost. Atleast not as much. I'm already satisfied with the sales. Since the beginning, I was only hoping for GUILTY's sales and if more than A BEST 2, that would be wonderful. I'm sure it will sell more than GUILTY so that's very good. IMO...selling this amount in just 3 days is a big accomplishment. Some ppl would die to sell this amount in total.

I hope ppl won't be disappointed if A Complete won't sell more than Best Fiction coz both ayu and namie is in different situation. Namie's popularity have been growing with her previous releases and its obvious casual listeners are purchasing her cds. Ayu on the other hand is not...atleast not as obvious. She only released 1 single this year and even though it sold decently, it didn't have as big as a impact as 60s70s80s.

If it doesn't sell a million it doesn't mean it flops, specially not just because the sales dropped.

I just can't see albums that sell over half a million called flops. Specially not when they sell it in a week or a week and few days.

What are those exaggarations? A COMPLETE ~ALL SINGLES~ is doing pretty well even with the drops.
It's not like it sold 50,000 or 100,000 in 3 days.
Most albums (even compilations) don't reach even close to that.

Yeah not flopping and YES there is new stuff, ahem the DVd with all unreleased footage if I'm not mistaken. And the LE has the 48 page booklet. And hey, theres even one new recording Who 10th aniversary.

Basically, for the people who said that it was gonna flop, anything that is under a 600k-700k first week = a flop and total sales of under a million = a flop.

I would think flop is something like Guilty sales numbers. Not that guilty flopped mind you, just that comilations are generally expected to do better than original albums. But for RIAJ, platinum is 250k and gold is 100k so let's say even if A Complete sells only 100k, should it be considered a flop? We are judging against ayu's standards here and it's very subjective. Just because we hope for a million doesn't mean if it doesn't reach that target, we go "oh it flopped, ayu's done for". I hoped for a million because i wanted proof ayu can still do it with such a mega release but even if it doesn't, it's still not going to erode my excitement when i get my copy. I'll just sort of give up the idea that ayu will go back to million territory one day, that's all.
