GReeeeN releases first new song in two years

GReeeeN’s first new song in two years, “every”, was released in Chaku-Uta format on April 12th, and it’s a track that encourages listeners to live confidently and positively.

“every” has been used as the commercial song for “Asahi Ichiban Mugi” beer since March, and has also been featured in the “Tomo ni, ashita e” version of the Asahi Beer Corporation commercial since April 9th.

GReeeeN is also providing another new track, “Green boys”, as the theme song to NHK sports documentary, “Athlete no Tamashii”.

i think i can hear "sorashido" in the chorus, so maybe CDJapan is correct after all? but i love this song so much better than "Sora Uta". and the PV is really cute, too.

The PV and song is so nice! I hope they can get back into the Top 10 with this single, cus their last single didn't make it to the Top 10.

And I do hope they have an album they can release this year. With the fast pace of their music releases so far this year, it does seem likely.

EDIT: I did some research, and Hana Uta actually did make it into the Top 10, and peaked at #7. But the sales were so low. T_T

Their next single titled "Koibumi ~Love Letter~" is the theme song to a movie, and will be released in the Fall:

It’s been announced that GReeeN would have their upcoming song, “Koibumi ~Love Letter~”, be used as the the theme song for the “Anotoki no Inochi”.

The band commented, “We are very happy to get an offer to sing for this movie’s theme song. Even to GReeeN, ‘Koibumi ~Love Letter~’ is one of our favorite songs. We believe this song will tell a story about the time spent with an important person and how they give you hope for tomorrow. Also, it will tell about how you gain the meaning of life by liking that person.”

This movie is adapted from a novel of the same name written by singer Sada Masashi. It tells the story of ‘Nagashima Kyohei’ (Okada Masaki) who locked up his heart due to an incident during his high school days; he works in a small company for sorting and dispose obituaries. Amidst all of this, he meets a young woman named ‘Kubota Yuki’ (Eikura Nana) and begins to regain his courage back little by little by opening his heart to her.

This movie was directed by Takahisa Zeze (“Heaven’s Story”), and the production team is made up of those who created “Yomei Ikkagestu no Hanayome (April Bride)” and “Life: Tengoku de Kimini Aitara (Life: Tears in Heaven)”.

The theme song, “Koibumi ~Love Letter~”, is about a “love letter which took one’s whole life to write and could not be seen by the naked eye”. Okada said of the theme song, “I am a fan of GReeeeN so I am happy that my starring movie’s theme song will be sung by them! Also, this is a fabulous song with powerful lyrics and a wonderful title, ‘Koibumi ~Love Letter~’. The song really goes with this movie and I thought this is a song that fit Kyohei and Yuki specifically.”

This movie will hit theaters nationwide on November 19th, and the song will be released later this autumn.

Sounds like it's going to be a ballad, based on the song title, but we'll see.
