TBH, I believe she recorded and writing the lyrics for it when she's recording for Love songs. Did you realize that the ayu video on Tales of Festival 2011 and the video of Tales of Xillia announcement on December, is the same?
Yet, on first December, she said that she's hoping the song would reach the players, and on May, she's already mentioning about progress. Weird?

I guess she has recorded both videos on the same date, but they waited before releasing the one mentioning progress so that the title could be kept secret.

As others have already said, there is little doubt progress will be included on the next single. Avex will want to exploit the game tie-in as much as possible. Even though Tales of isn't as big as FF or Dragon Quest it has a solid fanbase.

About the release date, I think September 7 (or earlier) is pretty much a given, right? They'll want to have the single on the shelves when the game is released, so fans of the game can buy the single as well in their excitement about having the game on launch day.

Just wishful thinking but.. There will probably be a b-side. Another Ayu song, how exciting!

^ there is absolutely no doubt that this song will be a single. i highly doubt ayu will just put this song on the side as an album track, since at this rate, her next album probably won't be released until 2012.

Yeph, I also really believe that it would be on single.
I don't think progress will be ended up on the ToX soundtrack, I've been a fan of Motoi Sakuraba (the composer of ToX), and I knew that his soundtracks never contain any theme song or any arrangement for the game he compose for.

There's many possibility of the single release in my speculation.
1. CD+DVD ayu ver and CD+DVD Tales of Xillia limited ver, CD only ayu ver
based on Do As Infinity - Chikai Sengoku Basara Ver. and alan - Panda with Candy bear, I think Xillia ver it would contain progress PV with no ayu on it, just contain clip of Xillia

2. CD+DVD ayu ver, and CD only Tales of Xillia limited ver
based on BoA - Mamoritai Tales of Graces Ver, Xillia limited ver contain only progress, with Karaoke or maybe Orchestra version

3. CD+DVD A, CD+DVD B, and CD only
based on ayu's mainstream release, maybe it would have special sticker or long obi of Xillia

of course, each first presses have a special code to download special content of Xillia in the game itself, avex will make this huge tie-in (I said huge, because it'll 15th anniversary of Tales) to a chance to milking money, not from ayufan, but also from gamer, lol.

I think they will do something huge for this. I mean, huge like adding goodies as game codes, stickers and so on. I highly doubt it will be a typical Ayu release though. Tales of.. games are way more popular in Japan than Onimusha's ones (I don't really remember if there was some goodies on Startin'/Born to be.. singles) and they're pretty popular among jrpg games as well.

Just wishful thinking tho because this is her best tie-up she have since years. So would be nice if they will add some goodies.

On one hand, I get that it's a little shocking to not have a new single for almost a year. On the other, she will have released 9 Blu-rays, 3 DVDs, a 3D movie, 4 remix albums, and a remix boxset in addition to her annual tour stuff in the first half of 2011. She and Avex usually act like fans' wallets are bottomless, but maybe they have a limit after all?

I agree so much with you. I could have done it without the 3D movie and 50 live collection thing. I hope she will be releasing a lot of new stuff in late 2011 or whole 2012. She might lose her "fame".
