Fans with a big heart
Following the footsteps of their idols, many forums and fan clubs have also stepped forward to do their part in aiding the Japan quake victims.

One of them is Soshified, the largest international forum that supports Korean girl group Girls' Generation (also known as 'So Nyeo Shi Dae').

Soshified recently concluded a donation drive, which included an auction hosted by the forum.

Individuals from countries including Singapore, USA, Australia, Brazil and Chile donated a total of US$19,602.51 (approximately S$25,000). Various Soshified members also offered treasured items for an auction, to further help raise funds.



Run Devil Run album autographed by SNSD's leader, Taeyeon

An autographed album from Girls' Generation leader Taeyeon was auctioned for US$999.90 (approximately S$1,300), making it the highest bid collected.

The total amount of money raised in a period of three weeks was US$25,372.50 (approximately S$32,000).

omg, soshified posted news that Justin bieber would be featured in Mr.Taxi, and I almost had a heart attack and was getting prepared to cancel my preorders, but thank goodness it was just an april fools!

The innocent young lad also spoke with tears in his eyes about how his hit song “Baby” was fully inspired by Girls’ Generation’s “Baby Baby”. To reflect the frustration he felt when he couldn’t understand the Korean lyrics even with the help of Google Translate, he picked mindless, easy-to-remember, and repetitive lyrics for the chorus in his song.

Taeyeon is my height so really she's the only member I can talk to without hurting my neck but she doesn't speak English so we always end up just staring at each other’s hair.

[04.01.11] Mr. Taxi Has Been Postponed to April 27

Due to perhaps one of the biggest disasters in recent history in Japan, it was almost all but certain, but Mr. Taxi has been postponed. Originally scheduled for a release on the 13th of April, a recent update on the Tower Records page of the single showed that the CD will now be released on April 27th, a full two weeks after the intended date.

While info is scarce, official updates will be released soon, with all of it available on Soshified.

I just checked my order on CDJapan not too long ago and sure enough, the release date for this single has been postponed to April 27th. Although I was anticipating the original 4/13 release date, I think it was a good decision on their part to delay it's release considering all that's happened.

Yeah, just saw the new release date on CDJ. I'm kinda bummed but at the same time, this works out for me perfectly since I've been very bad at putting aside money for this particular order (I have other things with it) so two more weeks to save helps a lot.

[04.08.11] Girls' Generation to donate "MR. TAXI/Run Devil Run" revenue to Red Cross

In a news update on 8th April, it has been announced on the official Girls' Generation Japanese website that proceeds from the "MR. TAXI/Run Devil Run" single would be donated to the Red Cross relief fund, in order to provide assistance to the victims of the earthquake.

Girls' Generation and staff once again offered their sincerest sympathies to the victims, in the website update.

This is not the first time SM Entertainment has shown their charitability, having made prior contributions to the Red Cross.

I'm so happy that proceeds from the sale of this single will be aiding those affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan! While I don't think they've announced what percentage of their sales will be donated (not that it matters because anything helps!), I'm very glad that so many artists are stepping up to help and are giving us fans an opportunity to help as well by providing us with great music and using the money to help those in need!

^I just read that! I'm really happy about this! I'm glad I preordered 2 versions, but I think I'll add the 3rd normal version to my order as well since they'll be donating the money from sales. First KARA, now SNSD doing this makes my respect for them go up so much! They are so kind and generous!
