The report was about Tales of Xillia itself, not the version of FIVE associated with ToX. However, the CD only with the Tales of Xillia goods has been outselling the CD+DVD since they were listed on Amazon.

BoA's Mamoritai was helped out quite a bit by Tales, I think. It stayed on charts for a while longer than it normally would have anyway.

I'm not sure if it was just the Tales tie-in or the fact that people like BoA's winter ballads, but it was her first single since LOVE LETTER that got certified for Chaku-uta full, the single sold 50k physically which she also hasn't managed to do in a couple of years and it even sold almost as much as her album that followed.
