[CHARTS + SALES] GUILTY - second topic

I don't know.. something tells me that if GUILTY had been released the same day as kobukuro released their album she might have had a chance. I mean the numbers are quite close. There's not really a "gap" to speak of.

I remember both A BEST 2 sold more than 400,000 first week... too bad the drops are big, that's crap.

The 434,852 already includes the sales from 12/25-12/27.

432k isn't bad at all given the state of the industry now, though I am still a little sad that her #1 streak has been broken Nevertheless, GUILTY is still a great album, and I'd rather have it sell steadily and eventually make it to a million (or at least 800k +) than make a big debut and then exponentially drop later. Let's hope it pulls an Otsuka Sakuranbo when it comes to charting! (Ai Otsuka' single Sakuranbo didn't ever make it to #1, but sold well since it was consistent on the charts)

And let's not forget that kobukuro are a Mr.Childrenized boyand which makes it even harder almost to any female artist to sell more... at this point I even think it will end up selling more than kumi's Kingdom (and maybe even Black Cherry) so ayu had a really great fight in any way.
avex were stupid though releasing it on 01.01...

If we go by A BEST 2's track (2 week total = 81% of total sales) GUILTY's sales would be around 530k.

Well, GUILTY's sales doesn't seem bad, not kobukuro's and EXILE too (though they are boy bands) so yeah it might be a nice year.

Perhaps Ayu'll get a boost this week thanks to the whole deaf thing? Dunno If that would be enough to beat Kobukuro and Exile.

I don't see how her being half-deaf is going to help her sales.

i have to say, i was expecting lower sales. well done, Ayu!

if she had to get the #2, i'm glad she lost to Kobukuro & not some sub-par act. 5296 is a really solid album, imo.
