TBS generally has much higher ratings than NTV. So Smile getting lower ratings than the Quiz Show, despite all of the hype that Smile had is very telling. A lot of people seemed to have been disappointed with the first episode of Smile and I do think that race is part of the issue. The issue of half Japanese in Japan actually is considered a controversial topic though for many people from Europe or America I'm sure it seems like such a non-issue that it seems ridiculous that it would be a problem.

btw, here are the first episode ratings for Jun's other dramas:
Bambino: 16.6
HYD: 18.3
HYD2: 19.4
Kimi wa Petto: 11.6

Kimi wa Petto was a long time ago, so compared to his more recent ratings, Smile is disappointing.

Also, only NHK is airing a show at the same time as Smile.

And SunshineSlayer, I totally agree. I was just saying that before, TBS usually has great ratings for their dramas, especially their recent Matsujun ones. So there had to be another factor contributing to the low ratings of Smile. Hopefully they pick up.

Ugh, I've always hated Popolo. It's so messy. @_@ Not to mention the trashy ads in the back ... but He looks great - and I haven't been this attracted to Jun since I first got into Arashi. O: Jun and Sho have like - the same hair. XD and Nino and Aiba's haircuts are so adorable.

actually Kaori , Popolo's not bad . They have some awesome shots of Johnny's but I frankly don't like collages

Popolo/Myojo were always my least favorite JE mags. just the quality of the scans, as well as the actual paper are low quality compared to Potato/Wink Up/Duet. Wink Up & Potato are my favorites.

"one" is an amazing album. i actually listen to "one, "ARASHIC", and "time" on a daily basis great albums.

you know, i got into arashi last year, hoping by now there'd be a new studio album, since it's almost a year since "dream a live". but.........we've got nothing i really want a album! i feel like their rushing with the "ashita no kioku/crazy moon" single, especially since the PV and covers were all shot in advance. i personally can't enjoy a single that's released so quickly. i mean, i really feel like "believe" was JUST released! i love singles, trust me, i do. but i think now i can really say that i'd like a new (studio) album instead

^I understand how you feel! I mean, this single does feel kind of rushed since it is so soon after Believe, but I don't really mind it. I mean, this is their 10th Anniversary and they're at another peak in their popularity, so it makes sense to capitalize on it. I feel like if they release in album now - then it'd be like closing up the chapter of their tenth year. Singles are their strong point so I think they're trying to milk that as much as possible and then finish it off with an album or BEST.

All I can really say is hang in there, because we're certain to get a lot of new material this year!

Listen to Iza , Now too , Lisa . That's 1 of Eirynne's fave albums & also that goes for Kaori too
