outside>inside

inside is too cutesy pretty. she sounds like she's in la la land. the song in general is good (considering they're basically the same song, just in different pitches) but I'd be real embarrassed to play that out loud. the lyrics on top of the vocals make it really girly. "MARY MARY ROUND AND ROUND, MAMA, PAPA CHAN!" it's like a nursery rhyme. Whereas outside, she belts out the tons in a much lower, more herself sound and makes it more serious I'd say.

I like every song on the single though which is a first for me since her taboo single.

before i forget since it just happened to cross my mind, whatever happened to kumi's but/aisho analog single? analog is vinyl record right? and I don't think she's ever had anything released in vinyl before. Does the vinyl version of the single really exist? in my life (as long as the single's been out lol) I don't know anyone that has claimed to own it, nor have I ever seen it up for sale anywhere, or even a single picture of it. It's just been "mentioned" on wikipedia and various other sites that there is an analog version of it. Can anyone clarify?

my younger sister said that when she 1st heard Inside Fishbowl , she was going onto me in that it's SO Perfume O_O

well I don't listen to Perfume so I can't really comment about that but I prefer Outside Fishbowl x)

it sounds nothing like perfume to me, thank god. They have beep-boop voices and make beep-boop music.

but there's nothing wrong with perfume.

like what I said before , if I don't listen to an artiste , I wouldn't made any degrading comments & etc towards the artiste

but yeah the moment I heard Inside & Outside Fishbowl , I knew it straightaway I prefer Outside more than Inside

Kumi's vocals on Inside was a bit :O for me to handle

but I'm happy that Lollipop's getting a PV cos I think that's the main highlight in the single

I believe the single does exist. The exclusive "Drum'n'Bass Remix" of BUT surfaced a while ago. I had always wondered about that remix and had given up hope but I believe the remix was eventually posted here on AHS as I have it now.

That's pretty amazing! Driving Hit's only sold something like 65k according to Oricon but I guess it kept selling under the radar and eventually enough copies have been shipped to stores : o

I have already a doubt with the sales of taboo. On wikipedia says that has been certified Platinum by shipment of 250.000 sales. There's a big difference between that and what oricon reported... :S (I guess it was 100k)

Nono, there's a difference between sales and certifications. They don't necessarily have to be the same. Certifications are the amounts of copies shipped to stores, not sales. There can be some discrepancy.

(Although the reported 90k sales for TABOO and the certification of 250k is a HUGE difference.)

I translated another interview of Kuu-chan in GINGER magazine (issue: 2010-06).

She talks about the tough times she had at the start of her carrier and during the 'rotten fluids' scandal.

These parts stood out to me:

“To tell the truth, I didn’t believe in myself before that point in time. I would always wear pants to cover my legs. Because of that big turning point, I’ve finally become able to grow self-confident.”

There wasn’t a single positive result. People would tell me, “Quit already!”. All I could do was wonder why I wasn’t selling even though I had such good songs. [...] I didn’t even have the money to buy new clothes."

[regarding the scandal] "I felt I was cast out of society and started to think about everything. When I suddenly started to listen to my own CD’s, I remembered the times when I had persisted and kept going. And my tears started to flow.

I realized again how I loved seeing people happy more than anything and how I had chosen the path of music in order to make those people happy. I also realized that there were people who would support me even when I was at rock bottom.”
