As for smoking in Japan; even if it's popular and isn't banned... wouldn't they know about the health side effects? Or is that just not taught?

It probably is a "to each their own" thing. As long as they aren't smoking around Ayu and messing with her voice, I wouldn't care much what they do.

Weight fluctuations happen, and once you get past your mid-20s it's more difficult to keep the weight off. Smoking is not that good for stable weight either =|

As much as he annoyed me always being Ayu's love interest in her concerts it's IMHO kind of unfair to day "oh look at him he's so fat now" etc and feel good about that. He doesn't deserve to be made fun of because he's gained a little weight. He's not even obese just his abs have disappeared a little
