Buying Ayu... how do you do it?

I have a lot of faith in Ayu--although there are some album-only tracks I don't like, there's never been a full release I didn't like--so I typically feel comfortable buying her new music releases without previewing them in full first.

I used to buy the overseas pressings of albums, singles, and arena tour VCDs locally--through the BLUE BIRD single, after which the store closed. Now I pre-order the first press of albums and arena tour DVDs from Yesasia. I usually pre-order the CD+DVD singles, too, but now I'm going to try waiting for the overseas versions of the CD-only versions instead (I was going to wait for the overseas pressing of L and crossroad, but I gave into the temptation of posters featuring all of her single covers. Sure learned my lesson...). I mean, now that she's bolstering the CD-only singles with remixes--and she releases at least one original album every 12 months--there's really no reason to buy the CD+DVD versions.

Some of her older, pre-I am... singles and remix albums I bought off of iTunes or picked up at a significant discount from places like Book-Off.

I never buy a-nation DVDs, and I only purchase the COUNTDOWN LIVE DVDs with exceptionally good tracklistings/discounts.

I made a mini-promise to myself to get all of Ayu's singles and albums in JP press when she hit her 10th anni, which was also the first year I had money to be able to actually buy her stuff!

Since then, I've done that for all her CDs (bar MOON/blossom, which I got in HK press cuz I was short on cash then ) and got all her singles in at least one CD+DVD version and all the albums since GUILTY (which I got in TW press) in CD+DVD JP press (as well as other copies as I could afford - I had 5 copies of NL floating around at one point lol)

I'm buying all versions (Japan press only) always. Singles, albums, concerts, magazines. Also A-nations usually limited edition only.

I buy whatever releases I can when I have the money. Of course, I give firstpress items greater preference over regular press. But my budget's pretty tight these days because I need to save up everything I earn. The last Ayu item I bought was RnRC (CD + DVD) firstpress and GUILTY (CD), which was also a firstpress surprisingly. But these, as you can imagine, were purchased back in May '10.

I buy every album as soon as it's up for preorder. For singles, I rarely buy them, mostly if they are really amazing and have b-sides that won't end up on the album and/or cool bonuses. For concert DVDs, I own just AT08. Even though I love them, I can't afford them normally because they are so expensive. I buy only Japan Version, even though they're the most expensive. Don't really know why, I just love them... haha. And I buy just one version of a release.

For albums, I'll get the OS version coz the japanese versions are just too expensive! xD

I never buy Limited edition because I don't have the money to do so~ so i'll just pass it~

I have this "tradition". Only thing I ever buy of Ayu's discography, is her CD+DVD albums. Never any limited edition USBs or singles. I don't collect Ayupans either for that matter (In fact I find them slightly creepy). It's all I really need, her music and music videos on two discs. I don't go crazy over any artist and buy everything they release, and I'm a huge fan of many different artists.

when I first got into Ayu, I bought the & single and then realized how many singles she puts out so I decided to only buy her albums. I bought a few -ordered online. And then when I went to Japan, I bought the rest of her albums at BOOK OFF stores.
I REEEEALLY wish her concert DVDs weren't so expensive >.< at first, I was buying bootlegs versions on ebay (I wasn't aware they were bootlegs at the time).

I prefer buying albums rather singles. I buy singles just if they're limited editions or because I really love the single itself.
And usually I buy the CD+DVD version so I can have all of her PVS. But I buy the CD Only version as well, like with GUILTY and Love songs. I buy limited editions too, If I can.
And I bought some Ayu goodies but just the ones I really like.

If I were more rich I would buy every her release but unfortunately I can't .

I buy all of her albums CD+DVD version, most are HK press except for Duty, NL, RnRC, and Ls which are JPN press. Though I think from now on I'm going to go back to buying all HK press. I usually don't buy singles, however I own a few CD only ones. I have almost all of her concert DVD's in HK press as well.

I never buy any of the concert goods, remix albums, ayupans, limited editions, or anything else along those lines.

For her singles, I only purchase singles with original mix b-sides and MVs that aren't on the album with the exception of Days/GREEN and GREEN/Days (which I bought for the special packaging), MOON/blossom limited version and MOON/blossom CD+DVD (from a friend as a birthday present). I did buy Crossroad and L to support Ayu (and for the first press posters!) so she could break her record but I sold them both since all the songs and MVs are on Love Songs.

For her albums, I always buy the CD+DVD versions with the exception of her earlier albums that didn't come with a DVD and Love Songs (I bought the limited edition and the CD only version). I also bought the limited edition version of NEXT LEVEL but I did buy the 2CD+DVD as well. For her future releases, I'll probably continue buying her limited edition versions if she has them and if not, the CD+DVD version. I buy all of her albums with no hesistation since I'm confident that she will always release quality material.

For her singles (the little singles that I do buy and have) and albums, I only buy the Japanese presses but I did make an exception for Love Songs since the Taiwanese version comes with a first press bonus poster. I may sell it one day and get the Japanese version but at this point, I don't think it's worth the hassle to do so.

As with any other Asian artist I listen to, I only preorder her music if it is limited edition and comes with a first press item besides an access card with serialized number (I can't do anything with it anyways since I live in the US). If not, I wait and buy it later on when it goes on sale or when I can find it cheaper elsewhere since I'm really not in a rush to get anything.

when I go to a convention, I look after ayu-cd's or dvd's, but they are very very expensive -.-
but I will buy the japan versions, dvd's in OS, cause they are too expensive for me

Well for me, I just bought a single if I had left over money, I use to buy a lot of kpop cds.
Now my interest in kpop is almost dead, so I'll be focusing on buying Ayu's albums (that I don't have) and of course singles, maybe concert goods if I have the money.

Besides her music, I also buy all of her concert DVD releases as well as Ayupans. For the DVDs, I mainly buy the OS presses but I do have a few JP presses that I got for a good deal. When I first got into Ayupans, I was an avid collector but now that I support a lot more artists, I just buy them when I find them for good deals. But now that I'm about finished buying all of Ayu's music (all I need is A Complete: All Singles), I will probably collect them more actively.

I only buy what I want and what I like. So, like, I don't just buy EVERYTHING for the sake of buying it. And I only buy one version of it, unless its UBER cheap. I also only get singles with single-only b-sides and remixes (so I haven't bought many singles letely -_-) I'll typically try to screen all of her releases on itunes or YT before deciding to buy them.

But I also only buy Japan versions. I don't care about the extra money for the JP versions, I can't stand all the extra writing and stickers and crap all over the OS versions.

I don't typically get CD+DVDs, mostly on account of the fact that i can't get the vids on my iPod, but also because of the price.

I don't trypically care about first press specials, but if i can find it cheap enough on eBay, I'll try to get first press versions, but that doesn't happen too often XD

I don't buy any concert goods, concert DVDs, ayupans, etc.

It used to be where I would buy every Single for a whole album, but then I realized I can save more money and be more satisfied if I just buy the album when it comes out. I try to order it when they have the first press and lucky draw stuff going on. I usually don't buy CD+DVD because I can only watch the DVD on my laptop.

I preorder albums in CD+DVD and singles in CD only(CD+DVd if it's some "special" single and/or we won't get the PVs on the album), DVDs and old albums/singles depending on how much I like them.
