Didn't she said, she won't release singles anymore because she prefer to put all the songs into a studio album, now?

To be honest, I'm happy she isn't planning to release music anytime soon. It makes me appreciate her music much more than before. In other hand, it makes me nostalgic as well

Well, as it stands now, even if you think they're 'singles', all she's had are mini albums thus far. Officially, we've only really had L so it doesn't really matter what anyone thinks the releases are.

I'm tired of the 'these mini albums are just singles' talk anyway. Very last year.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she stopped releasing singles. Maybe sporadic "mini albums", but that's it. It would be kinda weird because I'm so used to how the Japanese release music, but Ayu has been in a "weird" place for me anyway.

Ayu's release patterns have been getting less predictable every year. Her last normal year was 2009.

Summer/winter singles pretty much died after that, I think. And the 3 singles thing also sort of mixed things up... with the two albums in 2010 oh my god.

Hence why she's been in a weird place for me. She's been doing these strange releases for a while now. But, if she officially states that she will no longer be releasing singles then it will be officially weird for me. Currently, there is still the possibility she will go back to "normal" releases.

I find it funny that when ayumi releases mini albums and then puts those songs on an album she is disguising the "singles" as mini albums, but when EVERY SINGLE OTHER artist does it its all cool, nothing to it.

You do realize that her mini-albums in the "LOVE again" era even include the (Original mix) tags and instrumentals? That's why it is so shady.

And people bitch about other artists who do this all the time. Ayu is the only relevant one.

I think she sort of lost the momentum to release, shoot for and promote singles. It's probably easier to focus on a concept for a studio album and the concert tour following it. Good for the fans to save money and just buy the albums, bad that there has to be a long wait for new material.

I personally think she'll stop with the 'normal' releases for good as she's had for the last few years, unfortunately, but won't address it publicly. The #1 thing is so gonna get brought up if they mention it.

Maybe another album is being prepared for xmas or January 1st? idk ayu has a strong need of putting her feelings into songs, I don't think it'll take much time till more songs pop out.

same, even tho i am dying for new material, she said she's not gonna go with deadlines anymore. I hope that means better stuff and better executed everything that involves marketing and material layout. i'd love to see her get creative again.

Do you know how many releases she had in that span? On top of the HORRIBLE Maro publicity? I'm not surprised it didn't sell that well since Maro was all over everything from that era.

I really don't think she'll release another single, or at least not for now as it doesn't seem to be what she wants based on her newer interviews. She might change her mind in a few years from now and go back to singles again someday though, who knows...

Some may argue about the mini-albums, and, yeah, they might have been a subtle wish of her to release some kind of a "single" or a "different mini-album", but that was once (ok, twice since it was two minis, but they're both for the same one "project" that was LOVE again) and it was for her 15th anniversary releases, I don't think she'll keep doing that... It feels more like a one time experience imo.
