I'm 100% sure that in a few years time after SNSD are done, Sunny will reveal in an interview that she was not happy during the last years or something. It's just SO obvious.
Also, I'm wondering if Sooyoung, Yuri, Yoona and Hyoyeon actually asked for more lines when they renewed their contracts. They've gotten so many more since CMIYC (which was the first song after renewing contracts) - you notice it on the other songs on the album too. Yuri even opens another song. I LOVE IT! |

The line distribution is not even on You think...I thought that Hyo can sing part of this song quiet well..but they don't give much to her..even the rap part need to be divided between her and soo young...
and her scene part is so little...I don't know what they are thinking...maybe they forget to insert Hyo scene on it...sad yoona don't get any singing part...

The best part of the song is the rapping part, the rest is a bit boring. Expected something better. Oh but I liked the way Sunny sang her part, she sounded great.
No song on the album is really title track worthy. Disappointing release.

SM needs to wake up..Hyoyeon is easily in the top 4 most popular members internationally and increasingly in Korea too over the last couple of years.

I don't know what to think, but I feel like they're downgrading themselves. The choreography is quite tacky and I don't expect SNSD would do this type of dance. I know many Korean girl groups do tacky dances (esp the rookies), but do SNSD have to do that nowadays? I didn't know what they did in the beginning because I started knowing them when they debuted in Japan. For the past few years, they looked cool and fierce in The Boys, funky in IGAB, and they could wear suits for Mr. Mr. I always thought they're one of the few girl groups that don't need use sexiness to promote themselves. Are their popularity getting low in Korea now?
I watched the mvs with my brother and cousin. Lion Heart was pretty ok until when Yuri sang the chorus. We literally dropped our jaws when they did that open leg moves. That dance move was quite ugly actually. That particular part totally ruined my feeling towards the song. And in You Think, they all tried to sell sexiness (well maybe except yoona), and I don't really know what Seohyun was thinking when she did that split, then crawling in front a bit, then had her legs going up in the air. That was very tacky. Don't get me wrong, I don't against this type of dance, but I just don't expect SNSD doing that. They were always sexy and ELEGANT. Did last year's incident really cost their popularity that much...?

^They did that kind of open leg moves during tour you know, they already did that sorts in the past but not in PV/MV songs. Animal performance had them opening-closing their leg, I was surprised too at first but then oh well~
You Think's music is just meh, it sounds like the didn't throw more effort to it. PARTY even sounds much better instruments wise. |

After the initial shock seeing Sooyoung rap calmed down, I got to say that the song is really forgettable. I mean, Lionheart is an OK song; but I still remembered how it sounded like after one play. I listened to "You think" 3-4 times yesterday, and I still don't remember any of it. I'll give it a few more replays, I remember thinking the chorus was good?
After watching the PV again: Not a single solo line for Yoona? One short solo line for Yuri.. And rapping for Hyo and Sooyoung I don't think Sooyoung and Hyo even got any "luxury room" scenes? Seriously? And just too much Seo and Tiffany. Btw Seo looks weird during the bodywave in Hyo's rap. More edit: Lionheart practice dance video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZE7c2QRpGM Seems like the leg split is done in every chrous, not just Yuri's. ^^I know they did that kind of open leg move maybe in different songs, but doing that with those white dresses gave a total different (tacky) feeling. I mean if they're wearing hot pants I might not have that impression (as shown in the practice video). Yeah, Seo and Tiffany were like literally everywhere in the video. Talking about Seo, I don't really like her current image. She tries too hard to be a sexy adult but it doesn't work very well. I still can't believe she did that dance move in You Think. And Sunny kept laughing in the practice video. She seemed to think the routine is too funny to dance...

I don't like PVs except Lion Heart, other than that the music is weak and boring, imho, and the album is also very weak

who would have thought LH turns out to be my fav.
Other than that, i never really liked 70% of there album tracks. Not different for Vol.5. I like 2 songs, can't stand 3 and the rest is meh. Out of the good ones, one is a Japanese one which fits in strangly well with the whole concept. As for that leg move: i was like "eh". not that i was schocked but it really is that outfit and moment in the MV. its just looks out of place there - not in the choreo itself though.

Although I haven't listened to the full songs on the album(I intend on purchasing it in the future should they not release a repackage), I did listen to previews on iTunes and I was a bit underwhelmed with what I did hear. Between Jessica's departure and the fact that they really put a lot of effort into promoting this album with three music videos, I was hoping they'd come back with stronger songs. As far as their title tracks "You Think" and "Lion Heart," I enjoy both songs, however, I have a slight preference for "Lion Heart" which is a bit surprising for me since I expected to like "You Think" more. I listen to "You Think" more because I feel like it's the type of song I prefer from them but "Lion Heart" is always playing in my head. Both songs are better than "PARTY" in my opinion but I don't dislike "PARTY." I like "Catch Me If You Can" better than all of these songs though, lol (particularly the Japanese ver.). Overall, I'll try to reserve my full judgments of the album for when I listen to it, however, I will say that I'm looking forward to their upcoming Japanese releases as they, in my opinion, surpass their Korean material by far in terms of quality and overall style. I still like their Korean releases but I find that their Japanese music is more suited to my tastes.

I like both music videos, they're very entertaining, but the songs are just OK, since the trailer I wasn't expecting a lot honestly.

I love Fire Alarm from the album
Bump It sounds like they are trying to do a Bang Bang I personally enjoyed You Think though. The vocals are love (then again, its TTS+Sunny). Hence, the second half of the sound died on me. Sooyoung sounded weird on the rap but Hyo was fierce. I think they are raising Sunny to Sica's level now. Sica used to take the first part of the 2nd verses but now Sunny's been doing the job Lol |

I'd love to hear people's first impression of the album, and then again in a month or two time. GG songs have a very strong habit to grow on you.
Come on people, do some ratings. Use this: HTML Code:
[B]01. Lion Heart[/B] [[B]?/5[/B]] [B]02. You Think[/B] [[B]?/5[/B]] [B]03. PARTY[/B] [?/5] [B]04. 어떤 오후 (One Afternoon)[/B] [[B]?/5[/B]] [B]05. Show Girls[/B] [[B]?/5[/B]] [B]06. Fire Alarm [/B] [[B]?/5[/B]] [B]07. Talk Talk[/B] [[B]?/5[/B]] [B]08. Green Light[/B] [[B]?/5[/B]] [B]09. Paradise[/B] [[B]?/5[/B]] [B]10. Check[/B] [[B]?/5[/B]] [B]11. Sign[/B] [[B]?/5[/B]] [B]12. 예감 (Bump It)[/B] [[B]?/5[/B]] [B]TOTAL RATING:[/B] [[B]?/5[/B]] 01. Lion Heart [4/5] I didn't like this song to begin with at first - it reminded me a lot of "Dancing Queen" and thats not really my type of music - but the very cute video + cute lyrics made me like it. And it's catchy as hell. Plus good line distribution. 02. You Think [3.5/5] I like the chorus, but not the verses that much. I like the rap, even though Sooyoong sounds a bit weird and baby-voiced. I hope this will be better live! I love the outfits in the MV. But I'm growing tired of Tiffanys face and Seohyuns voice after a while.. Soo.. 03. PARTY [4.5/5] I think this is my favourite on the album. It's catchy, it's cute, it's a part of everybody, and it's SO summer-y. The text is gibberish but it's just so cute, yet not AKB 48 cute, but mature-cute. 04. 어떤 오후 (One Afternoon) [1.5/5] This is the true definition of lounge music. Really not my style.. 05. Show Girls [3/5] The Korean version the existing "Show Girls" - I prefer the Japanese version. It's catchy, but I'm disappointed that they used this in the new album.. 06. Fire Alarm [4/5] This is probably my fav after PARTY and Lion heart. Very different, but it's a COOL song. Hard to explain. I love hearing SNSD trying out completely new styles, and I think this song is quite original. Good job girls! 07. Talk Talk [1/5] Boring, boring. No comment other than truly a boring song. 08. Green Light [1.5/5] This is a bit more up-beat feel-goody style, but it's SO AMERICAN. I don't mind the song, but it truly doesn't feel right with SNSD. 09. Paradise [3/5] I think this song is ADORABLE. It's just such a cute and fluffy song. The quality of the song is OK, but it's cuteness gains points. 10. Check [2/5] Again, not my style. It's VERY TTS-ish, and I wish they had just given it to TTS, it's mainly TTS singing anyway... 11. Sign [1.5/5] I think this song grows on you, but for now it's just weird.. 12. 예감 (Bump It) [2/5] I HATE the intro to this song. "Hold up, I need my girls for this" - UGH. The song itself is very american-style again- I agree with freedreamer, it really reminds me of Bang Bang with Niki Minaj, Adriana Grande and Jessie J, just not good. TOTAL RATING: [2.5-3/5] OK album, i'm rather disappointed with it. I like that SNSD always check out new styles and test the waters, but this just didn't work for them. |

Talk Talk and Show Girls are the only good songs in this album. Rest is plain garbage. Sad.
