english is really hard to learn!!!!
especially if it isn't ur primary language. i'm glad she can speak somewhat in english. or else, i wouldn't understand. i was so happy when i heard 'real me'. i can actually understand like 75% of what she was singing.

...English is hard to learn, isnt it a level 3 language? Spanish is is level 2?
You would think ayumi dosent know very good english, since she didnt take all of highschool, but didnt she come to america to train her vocal cords? New york is a great place to pick up english, signs everywhere and such. |

She picks a suitable word for each song. It depends on the style of the word and the sound as well as the meaning.
[poker face] makes perfect sense in both English and Japanese. It's the same word. It made sense to put it in English because pookaafeesu doesn't look so great when romanized. On the other hand [you] is simpler than having to cycle through the Japanese words for you and picking out a suitable one (which likely would have been "kimi.") hanabi has a different set of connotations than fireworks. hanabi are hakanaimono. ^^

Ayu's Cantonese is pretty impressive I must say, having to learn those lines properly in such a short amount of time. |

Japanese people have a hard time learning english alot of times, but Ayu's english is at a lower level than even most Japanese... English is required material in Japanese high schools, but since ayu dropped out of school, she never learned. She's most likely picked some up since those days, but she's nowhere near fluent.

What exactly does Canary mean? i found a few meanings at dictionary.com , but i'm not sure which one is correct for ayu's song and her lyrics
- A small finch (Serinus canaria) native to the Canary Islands that is greenish to yellow and has long been bred as a cage bird. Slang. - A woman singer. - An informer; a stool pigeon. - A sweet white wine from the Canary Islands, similar to Madeira. - A light to moderate or vivid yellow. do you guys think its the slang for a woman singer or is it just the bird?
