Yup for me too, those sales are poor...

For a country like Japan, (about 130 millions ppl) selling only one million disc is poor :x

[In France every artist can easily sell 500.000 copies (we'r only 60 millions, so it's the same)]

So one million only for an artist like ayu :'( :'(

[However the avex holding share price is know @ 1377yens, instead of 1000yens in middle of november :p, about +35%, why i didn't buy some share ]

Yeh, I don't think the sales are very good too. But Ayumi is not promoting it very much. Only a PV in MTV, posters, CMs, magazines, but we don't see her going in TV shows to talk about it.. It's probably because of the upcoming Arena Tour, right? I hope the sales will increase with the tour! ^^

I wouldn't catagorize the sales as poor. Maybe not as high as some of her other albums, but not poor either.

Just to claify something to some people: The Sales are NOT poor. It is decent and can be considered GOOD considering the current state of Japanese Music, they have gone downhill alot because of the internet downloading. Remember back in the years 98? People can easily sell over a million because not many people know about the internet and there are not much sharing going on. That's why even Ayu's single "M" and a few other hit the million mark. Her albums were selling like hotcakes....up to even 4 million copies. But now, the music industry has become different and a million IS alot!

i totally agree

the sales wont ever be like they were some years ago....
and it is not cuz ayu's popularity is decreasing (i know it is, but it is not the main reason), it is cuz people dont buy as many cd's as they once bought

Every other original album reached +1 million, right?

But that's been over very long periods of time and this album still has a lot more time until it'll reached it's maximum sales...

After being so negative about it, I'm actually going to buy the OS CD+DVD, because it's worth the price for all the singles and their PVs, so if the album tracks are good that's an extra.

I'd say those sales are good, definitely. Does that include the tracks purchased from Avex's site? If not, then it's probably much, much more.

yay! it should reach million sales next week! =]

actually, selling a million is quite a lot. nowadays at least.
not a lot of japanese can reach platinum or even double platinum now due to downloaders and stuff.

the sales are okay from my point of view.
did anybody see how much Exile's best album sold??
It sold alot!! It probably sold more then Orange's 2nd Album during their 1st and 2nd week sales. (Alot people in this forum don't like their 2nd album but I like it)

YEAH!! EXILE almost sold 1 million copies in their first week. I think it was like 970,000 or something like that.

it is their 1+2 weeks and the sale is the total of TWO album(perfect best + single best, actually oricon is a little bit cheated, because they should separate the sale of single best and perfect best (they release THREE album at the same day) ), and it is a BEST album(best always sells better)

orange range is A LOT better , they sold 870000 in FIRST week (total sells more than 2,000,000)(i don't like orange range too)
