Annoying problem lol.

Desktop >> My Mp3's >>My songs (I share with my sister)

I keep a folder with albums and a folder with just random MP3's. Then another folder of Old Songs, just in case I get in the mood to hear somethin old, or If I get tired of a song, i Move it there.

Works nice if you use winamp. Too many folders bug me >< I just keep really organized by giving em proper names. *Artist - Title*

After few years of trying to sort my music, I've found this system to be the best, have a look:

I don't like many folders - Artist, album/single. So I'm using this very simple system. Artist album/signle/vinyl - Title. And when I want to play all these files in winamp, I just use right click on the button "open", then choose that folder and thats all

About the picture thing I don't know why my mp3 folder shows a picture of Mariah Carey when I don't have any of her files or pictures in the folder...

Anyway, I just go
C:/Mp3/Artist Name - Single/album name

If it's just misc. songs from an artist and there's several of them, I'll just create a folder with just the artist's name.

And there's a:
C:/Mp3/C-pop misc
C:/Mp3/J-pop misc
C:/Mp3/English misc

Just to put songs of an artist I only have one or two of.

Then there's:
C:/Mp3/Radio Pre-release
For radio/PV rips and such.

I'd like to organise it more...but I'd mess up all the links and have to put everything back onto my winamp list.

I use iTunes to keep everything organized. I just make sure the mp3s are tagged correctly and iTunes puts them nicely in Artist/Album/## - song.mp3 order. Easy and efficient.

That's a view setting in Windows.

sxesven, I used to have my music organized just like that BTW, your picture of the Chrono Cross OST is a bootleg picture, the original OST doesn't have the logo at all, just some smoky stuff underwater or something and the name of the CD in white.

Right now my music is just in an MP3 folder... full albums are organized by folder inside there, and miscellaneous mp3s are just sitting in there. I'm a nut about doing the right filenames though. The misc mp3s are all Artist - Title Spaced out and Properly Capitalized as it is on the CD. Inside the albums it's 01 Title with No Dash Again Properly Capitalized, 02 Next Song's Title, etc. And my ID3 tags are like CRAZY proper. I always look up the japanese titles of romanized mp3s just in case (so there's not "yatsutsuke shigoto" or anything like that).

Oh, thanks
Right click on the folders background, view, details. And then right click again, manage icons, view in groups. But it works only in Windows XP.

My Documents/My Music/Music Archive/Artist Folder/Album or Single Folder/etc.

It's primarily stored that way, but recently I've been using iTunes more just for convenience (I actually don't like the program though.)

Me too! It's a good way to keep organized your files and find them easily.

I use iTunes too. I really recommend this to everyone because not only does it keep everything organized, but it has a quick search function for all of us with massive mp3 libraries. People w/ single MP3s can just make playlists as well if it's not inlcluded in an album.

I always burn the files in CD, and I put all CD with a code. I have 400 CDs so I create a database to organize my files.

Here is what I have
Total CM = 1274 files
Total CD(Album/Single) = 594
Total TV live = 439 (MPEG2, HDTV MPEG2, HDTV TS only)
Total PV DVDVOB = 130 (All DVDVOB MPEG2)
