I agree.

Sometimes, I believe some of the crying (i.e HEAVEN PV) is fake. But 1- It's different from her concert tours, and 2- I could be wrong.

100% real. ayu is just too sentimental, that's all! anyone recall ayu crying when she was in taiwan when a group of small kids sang her song? ayu cried when she heard it, i don't think that could be prepare before hand.

for the concert, ayu was only happy to see those fans with her, and gotten touchy. that's all.

I think that in some instances it might be a little forced, though for the majority of performances it's when something is coming to an end.

And anything can make you cry if you think about it too hard...

usually it's at the end of her concert tour... and when you think about it, they have been working hard all year for this concert and now it's over... can be emotional for everyone... other times she cries I thinks it's because of the message of the song... like when she did TeddyBear/MemorialAddress back to back and kinda got a little teary (I believe this song was for her dad) so I think that her crying is real

I'd agree with you, adding on that her crying at the end of Teddy Bear and the start of Memorial Address is probably the most convincing emotional performance she's ever given in my opinion. Her voice got strained and weak, she cracked and had trouble getting back to normal but she gained strength and continued with the song. Not meaning to say, "she faked that one real gewd " but I really enjoyed that performance, you could believe her emotions were driving the song forward. Something like receiving her award for No Way To Say? Completely expected and though she had tears her voice didn't fluctuate in a very convincing manner, it sounded "urrrr'd" for a few seconds as if forcibly to make it seem more genuine but she continued perfectly (well, as she would normally sing).

Several songs it seems that she does it simply for the show, other times though it seems appropriate and real.

YES
I also found that ayu cried when she sang "walking proud" in ARENA 2005
I think this song has some special meaning to her
After you read this song lyrics, you will guess the reason
I'm not sure if my guess is correct
The song is about her grandmother I think
Her grandmother was dead when ayu was just to be a singer

not exactly... if the song had enough meaning in it, she can cry as much as she wants... kind of like Teddy Bear or Walking Proud... or Memorial Address... She doesn;t have much chances to perform it, so it'd be natural to cry to it...

I'm not sure, but just to add on, the day Poker Face (Ayu's 1st Single) was released, her grandmother passed away. (From the NTV Special Interview) I'm not sure about walking proud being dedicated to her grandmother though ... I know teddy bear was dedicated to her father ....

Anyway, I think Ayu cries for real!

In Arena Tour 2005, Ayu does one of her little "pauses" and puts her wrist to her nose, then bows down as if she's crying. I think she just does that for the applause LOL.

Are you serious? Or rather, was your sister serious? Being a girl myself, let me say that I do not cry for no reason and I think it's the same with Ayumi. I can totally understand getting choked up when she's ending the last performance in a tour, and also getting choked up while singing songs that are very emotional. I believe her crying is 100% real.

I think it's a little bit of both! I mean, Ayu's quite theatrical, but I also believe that the emotions she emotes while singing also become her own real feelings. I can't imagine the raw emotion she displays when she cries is JUST for pretend ... they seem to stem from a deeper place. Anyways, that's just my opinion

I think she's cry for real.

As we know, Ayumi is a legendary artist and well known. So I dont think she act to cry in front of the camera or in concert.

Just like Dearest PV, I believe she's cry for real cos the song is really touched.

Some fake, some real.

I also think it's a bit pretentious that she cries so much. "Oh, my lyrics are so touching. I think I'll cry."

Try reading the lyrics. She writes ALL of them herself, despite the saddness she packs into them.
It's what going on with HER, what SHE feels, even the songs with the happy background music are sad...i thought ""HAPPY ENDING" was going to be like voyage, and then i read the lyrics, and they are terribly sad...
Try to think of it that way.

Well alot of Artists Cry Like Koda Kumi, Tomiko Van, Namie Amuro, and even BoA.

I do think Ayumi is a emotional person maybe why that why she cries. Or she can be really stressed on her Concerts and etc. Which leads her to shed tears, but I don't always believe her tears are real.Example 'Memorial Address" on Arena Tour 2004-2005
