i think her eyes are sometimes so big that's it's kinda scary...but they are VERY beautiful indeed!

I couldn't agree more. In some pics, her eyes look gorgeous but in some, they look creepy.

I have to admit that I've never thought that Ayu had "big eyes". Nevertheless, they're still beautiful.

I always look at a person's eyes first when I see their face, and to me they've never looked abnormal.

Sometimes I think people just make fun of the artists I like in that way to just get a rise out of me. If they say "her eyes are so big and stupid!" my response would have to be "why do you even care?"

I really think it depends on the make-up and how doctored the pictures are. I think at this point, you have to admit that her photos are airbrushed to some extent. Make-up is a big factor for how her eyes look (especially the way the eyelashes are curled and how much eyeliner is applied). Also, the angle and lighting can change the way the face appears.

Akurei, I think your friends need to watch more Asian movies. I see actresses with HUGE eyes and they seem normal to me.

I like Ayu's eyes.. they're pretty and not ugly at all.

I think it's called EYE GLUE, and permanent eye glue to make her eyes big. No surgery but a permanent eye glue, or that she doesn't leave the house without using eye glue...

Asian eyes are not that big and you know it, it's like a blonde haired asian, you wouldn't say that's natural 'cause all asians wheather you like it or not, black hair, dark brown eyes, differently shaped unless a mixture

wtf, don't go around stereotyping asians. It's true that most asians have slanted eyes and dark brown hair but that doesn't mean there aren't the exceptional few. I have several asian friends with big eyes and i know for a fact that they do not use any type of cosmetic items to make it look that way. don't go around stereotyping asians just because u think all of them have slanted eyes, because not all of them do. some of them are lucky and they are gifted with a uniqueness that is uncommon

yea her eyes are a great a feature, BUT sorry to drop a bomb on you guys, but she did have surgery on her eyelids.

Yeah, I am getting tired of people saying she had surgery just because her eyes look somewhat different in a picture. Makeup does a lot and they edit the photo's too. I mean, I have seen asians with eyes kinda like Ayumi's (as in big) and I know for a fact that they didn't have surgery on them.

I think her eyes are big and gorgeous...I have big eyes myself and I love how big eyes look!! They remind me of Left-eye's eyes of TLC.

dood ther ewas that one article about it online somewhat back like a year ago. Not a internet article, nor tabloid. It was a fine print newspaper on a Dr. stating that that he was the one who perform the surgery. Now to find that article...

I still dont give too much about it sry. there is something like... ärztliche Schweigepflicht... whats it in english *looking up* "legal requirement concerning confidential medical communication" / "patient/physician confidentiality" (dunno)
and if that surgeon is breaking this I doubt he is very trustworthy at all...

I'm not trying desperately to convince myself Ayu did not have surgery, I wouldnt mind if she had, but I just doubt she did.
