I think she was probably scratching her chin or, more likely, brushing a lock of hair away.
The middle finger isn't the same in Japan, it's used in anime all the time like the pointer finger is used in the US.

i havent seen this one yet! i also have the same middle finger ayu shot, but different angle... i don't think she did this on purpose but sometimes... she really surprised me!!! she ever wore an alphabet earing set... the left earing is "JUICY" and the right earing says " HORNY" she wore it during an important event china-japan peace event wowwww....

But remember, people in Japan wear things not because of what they mean, but because it's the style. It's just like when people wear Asian clothing with kana and kanji all over them without any knowledge of what their clothing means.
