they probably try and the best part to cut the song so it would flow as well

I think its a combination of the factors people have mentioned.
Ayu has sung an entire song on the odd ocassion. I believe all the TV performances for "RAINBOW" were but I may well be wrong about that. The MUSIC STATION performance was certainly full length.
